A few years ago I found butter in the shape of a turkey and thought it was simply the cutest thing in the world. Since that year I have never seen it again. So now I on the hunt for the elusive turkey butter so that our table looks cute for Thanksgiving dinner. I am searching high and low and while yes I know that I can’t just ask in the store if they carry it I don’t want to look like a crazy person.
Make no sense to you? Well I asked “Do you have any turkey butter?” and before I could explain the person said they didn’t know what that was and walked off. Of course not before looking at me like I had crawled out the woods somewhere. I mean is it really that difficult to allow someone to explain to you what it is they are looking for? I guess so! Now I tell everyone (and I mean everyone) when you go to the store, look for the butter that is shaped like a turkey and if you find it buy it and call me!
I need like three of four of those puppies maybe even six. I want to use them at all of holiday meals although I wonder if they have one shaped like Santa for Christmas? Could be a thing, I don’t really know. All I know is that it looks cute and I want it. So if you happen to see it anywhere let me know the name of the store you found it at so I can rush out and see if they have it at the one here. This is one turkey hunt that I am planning on winning!!!
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

That does sound cute! I bet it just makes the dinner table. I just googled turkey butter and the images look fabulous. I was going to suggest trying to make it from a mold or something, but it looks way too elaborate for something mere mortals can do.
Good hunting! Let us see your find when you do locate it some day.

I will let you know. I thought about making my own as well but decided not for the same reason.

Nobody in my family can ever seem to get Turkey to taste right. So every year its one serving of turkey or none at all. Who knows maybe its the turkey butter that makes it taste right.
Rita says
Maybe!

You could always purchase a mold, melt the butter and put in mold in refrigerator and viola….molded butter!
Rita says
I thought about that as I said and I may end up doing that.

I don’t know if you have them by you, but local to me I find the turkey butter at Price Chopper every year.
Rita says
We don’t have one of those but I will see if there is one nearby.

I often wonder about seasonal things like this! If they don’t have great sales then it doesn’t come back the next year. I remember as a kid have cinnamon ice cream for thanksgiving with our pies. Don’t see it around anymore.
Rita says
Maybe that is what it is. I bet cinnamon ice cream is good 😉

Just a quick update – didn’t see any turkey butter while I shopped for Thanksgiving and no cinnamon ice cream either. Oh well, maybe next year!
