I am loving this quote! To be honest I never thought about things this way until I saw this quote. How many times have you heard or do you even say how beautiful the stars are? Take a few moments tonight and go outside (if it’s not too cold) and just look up. Aren’t they simply amazing?
They are but without the darkness of the night we can’t see them. They don’t shine during the day only at night. What I take from this is that it is only through our darkness and darkest hours that our lights truly shine through. It is easy to “shine” when things are going well and we are happy (in the light of day) but it is through our sadness and difficult times when most people see our light.
How many times have you heard someone say that person is so amazing with everything they go through or everything they do. Those difficult moments make us who we are and create our futures. So let your light shine!
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I totally agree with you and that is something that I had never thought of in quite that way before. Without the bad things that have happened to me, I would not be the same person that I am today.

We need the bad even if we don’t understand it.

This quote speaks to a very poignant truth. My wife always talks about how there is certain beauty in suffering and only those people who have been through suffering know that type of beauty. If your life is easy, it’s not likely that you will grow and mature much. As such, the type of people I tend to connect with are those that have been through troubling times.

Very true – it’s a beautiful quote. I try to look on trials and challenges as tempering is to a steel blade. Through hammering and beating, the blade gets stronger.

I love this quote. It makes me miss my Teton stars!

I really agree with you, it is certainly easy to be shiny when everything is perfect. Being a child of God certainly doesn’t mean everything will be perfect. I believe God wants us to shine our light even when times are tough. This way we can reflect God’s love.

This is a great quote. I totally agree with you. I think we also have to experience some of the dark times, so that we can truly enjoy the bright times. You are right that the tough times help make us who we are.
