What is your current book and tell us a little about it?
The Tide Breaker – Lost and without purpose, Abrianna struggles with the death of her mother. The only person she can count on is her boyfriend, Michael. But a secret he keeps from her could break her heart and threaten her existence
How did you come up with the title?
My friend came up with it while we were enjoying a glass of wine.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Challenge fate and you will discover a life filled with hardship and freedom.
Are the experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
I was always told to write what I know so hopefully I was able to capture my experiences in such a way that the story seems genuine.
What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The love stories were the hardest to write because I was going through a break up and my emotions were still raw.
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
My mother was an English teacher and I wanted to be like her so I took up writing.
Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Shakespeare was a master at creating dramatic works. I was pulled in with every word on each page. I think he was a genius and if I could write something matching his caliber I would be really happy.
What inspired you to write your first book?
I am happy I was able to write a book. But I think I should have waited because the book came from a place of confusion and sadness.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
I would move the commas from outside the quotations to the inside. But other than that I love my book and it is my best work to date. I know I will continue to grow as a writer and with each book I will improve.
You can find Sonya’s book, The Tide Breaker at Amazon.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

It sounds like a good book and the author sounds like she would not only be a good writer but one with a solid background in writing well.
