Jenny’s Everyday Wholemeal Bread from Outlander Kitchen

Nov 11, 2014 | Rita

Jenny’s Everyday Wholemeal Bread from An Echo in the Bone
For those of you who have been following me for a while now you know that I am obsessed with Outlander and during the hiatus I have been busying myself making various recipes from the books and series. My inspiration for all of this comes from Outlander Kitchen who is absolutely amazing and makes some of the most mouth-watering recipes! This week I thought I would do a little baking.

I made Jenny’s Everyday Wholemeal Bread from An Echo in the Bone and I am glad that I did. Of course I couldn’t find my large bread pan and ended up having to use some smaller ones but that’s okay. One thing I will tell you is that this bread is amazing while it is still hot with a little butter and honey on it.  I haven’t made bread in a really long time and I had forgotten how fulfilling making it really is.

Bread

The flavor of this particular bread was great. My brother had some of it and said it would be perfect to have with his oatmeal ( or parritch depending on which side of the pond you are on) in the mornings. He normally has toast but this bread his is new favorite. In fact I made fifteen loaves and froze them for him to take home with him. It does freeze well and he says he is almost out! So thanks Outlander Kitchen!!!

This recipe does look like a wonderful one to try – I have extra rolled oats and this would be a nice way to use them! I do make bread often, but sometimes get in a rut, so trying a new recipe like this one that is recommended is perfect!

How cool is that. So is this a recipe they made back in the day? That’s really neat. I wish I had more time in the kitchen to experiment. If I would get off the computer long enough, I probably would. lol. Looks delicious. With those 15 extra loaves, you’ll have some for your family feast that’s coming up!

This looks delish! I love whole and multigrain breads; I can’t even eat white breads because they seem so mushy and gross. I need some substance in my breads!

That bread looks amazing. You eat it like I do hot out of the oven. I dont think there is anything better than fresh baked bread with real butter dripping all over!

I love making homemade bread at home, the best with butter and honey on it, I even like to put a little butter and strawberry jelly on mine. Looks quite amazing.

There is nothing better in the world than fresh, homemade bread with melty butter. I got a new Vitamix this past summer with a special blender for grinding grains. This reminds me that I really should try it out sooner than later!

If you're looking for a Bible that helps you under If you're looking for a Bible that helps you understand your identity in Christ and God’s purpose for your life, the *Life in Christ Bible* is a must-have! 🙏📖 As someone who's recently been diving deeper into Bible study, I’ve found this Bible incredibly insightful and inspiring.

✨ One of my favorite parts is how it emphasizes that our value comes from who we are in God’s eyes, not from what we do. Each book begins with a helpful intro—key details like date, main idea, and a timeline outline make everything easy to follow.

❤️ Plus, the words of Jesus are written in red, and I love the "I Am" sidebars with extra insights and cross-references for deeper study.

And can we talk about the quotes from Charles Spurgeon and the historical charts?! 🙌 They really help put the New Testament into a broader context. Oh, and the maps at the back are a visual treat for anyone who, like me, loves seeing the geographical routes and locations come to life.

This Bible has been a game-changer for my spiritual growth, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to deepen their faith. 💙
