In chapter four, the final chapter of the book of Ruth we find out what happens with the other redeemer.Boaz sees the man after he has sent Ruth home to Naomi. He calls him and ten elders over to talk. He tell the man that Naomi is selling her land and he should buy it as the next in line.
The man says he will and Boaz reminds him that he also buys Ruth, a Moabite, and must marry her to carry on her dead husbands inheritance and name. The man refuses and tells Boaz he may purchase the land. He give Boaz his sandal which is how they sealed the deal in that time.
So Boaz is able to legally marry Ruth which he does. They have a son, Obed, who grows to become the father of Jesse who is the father of David. When Obed is born the village women tell Naomi that Ruth is better for her than seven sons because she has provided for Naomi.
Ruth endured a lot. She lived Naomi and wanted to take care of her. As an outsider and Moabite she must of felt out of place in Bethlehem. She may of even been treated badly by some. However her perseverance and determination paid off in the end. She was able to care for Naomi and was given a second chance at love and marriage.
Few people have that sort of strength now. She trusted God in everything even though she was new to faith and understanding him.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Boaz was one clever guy. It’s been, ahem, a rather long time since I looked at the Book of Ruth. This series has been interesting for me.

Naomi’s redemption is a great picture of God’s love for his people. He is always with us and ultimately does not want us to fall.

What an amazing story of strength of will and character. I think it shows how much Ruth and Naomi really loved each other. Especially during a time when women were of little value and had very little say in their life. I have enjoyed this series of stories. I am looking forward to what you come up with next.
