I am pleased to be taking part in this amazing hop brought to us by Review Wire Media and Chatty Patty’s Place. I know that I have shared things about myself over the years. In fact, my most recent share was 10 Fun Things You May Know About Me. I enjoyed writing that post. Most recently I know my posts have been about my illness and recovery.

It’s hard to focus on other things but today I wanted to do just that. I thought I would share something that I  don’t think I have shared with y’all before. I can’t handle pain medication or anesthesia. 

I don’t know what it is but if I am given something strong like morphine that little filter between my mouth and brain just disappears. There is no telling what I will say and it’s best I am not around people until I have slept it off. My aunt once insisted I go with her out to eat while I was on morphine. I proceeded to tell the entire restaurant that her son was a drug addict and that her former daughter in-law was not only something that rhymes with drawer but also using her for money. While the girl was sitting at our table! My daughter finds me funny on this but there is no telling what I will say and I try to apologize beforehand. 

Anesthesia can go a couple of ways. One thing that is always certain is I have a hard time coming out of it. I sometimes have a hard time being put to sleep. When I had my ankle replaced I counted backwards three times before they gave me something to relax me first so the anesthesia could do its job. I have been the first surgery of the morning and the last person out of recovery because of not waking up in the past.
