How many different things do you do each day? If you are like me you are a mom, a wife, daughter, sister, and so much more. I have to work on my blog which means writing, posting, editing, promoting, finding new sponsors and products. I am also an Affiliate Manager and Social Media Manager (which helps pay for all this) on top of homeschooling, cooking, cleaning, and about a million other things.
I got an MP3 of Just Say No as part of the Gabby Mom’s program. Her son at the beginning is so super cute! Hearing him made me smile. While listening to Lorrie Flem she said something that really made me think. She said that her husband told her to cut one of the co-ops, something she wouldn’t have even thought of being unnecessary. I thought what could I cut out in my day that isn’t maybe as important as I thought it was. So I began looking for ways to cut down. I was a member of a ton of groups that I would go to everyday and post, read, etc. So I went through and cut them down. I set up a new schedule where in 30 minutes a day I can manage all the groups that I enjoy but also the ones that really help me.
Lorrie also talks about how since she home schooled she was asked to do more things in her church. This is something that happens to me all the time. In fact I was told recently that my time wasn’t as valuable as a cousin’s because she had a real job and mine was more of a play job. If that were only true! If you are a blogger you know the amount of work I do, if not let me tell you that there is a lot of work that goes into each post. A lot goes on behind the scenes. I am forever being asked to go here or do this because I have the time to do it. When I run out and do it or go there it means I am here late at night (light tonight) and cutting into my family time.
After listening to Lorrie I realized that my time is just as valuable as is my family’s time together. I am going to learn to say no more or at least maybe. I am going to stick to my schedule that I created because it provides me a way to do all that I need to do while still spending the time with my family and with God that is important.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Thank you Rita! You are an inspiration to me. I am currently trying to cut things from my schedule, but have not really had the self-discipline to follow through. I’ll keep praying and keep working at it.

You are so right! Groups and blogging and such does take a lot of time! I’d love to know how you can deal with groups in 30 minutes.
