KaBoom! is one of those organizations that I can really get behind. They are a national nonprofit whose mission is to create great playspaces by providing a place to play within walking distance of every child in America. Is that just not a great reason to donate? I think this is such a great organization. We actually have a state park that is less than two miles from our house so we can walk there if we want to but there are so many kids in America that don’t have that luxury available to them.
KaBoom! is out to change that with their programs some of which include: Playground Planners that communities can use to help plan their playgrounds, Grants that help fund the new playgrounds in communities, and Imagination Playground in which New York Architect David Rockwell is working with KaBoom! to create some truly wonderful playgrounds. KaBoom! is also currently having a contest where you share a photo of a playground you love and you’ll be entered to win great outdoor toys! Submit your photo by Tuesday, February 19. An expert team of judges will pick their favorites based on your photo and caption.
Prizes: Three Grand Prize Winners will each receive a set of two Buddy Bounce Balls and five Runner-Up Winners will each receive a copy of the book Go Out and Play!: Favorite Outdoor Games from KaBOOM!.
