I must admit that I have never seen Disney’s Lady and the Tramp. I am not sure why but there it is. So when the chance to review the new Diamond Edition I jumped at it. The kids and I sat down to enjoy this classic and enjoy we did!
Lady and the Tramp is the 15th animated masterpiece from Disney. Its the adventure of Lady, the treasured family cocker spaniel pampered by her owners, an upper middle class family, and Tramp, a roguish mutt from the wrong side of the tracks. Lady’s family leaves for a trip and Aunt Sarah moves in with her mischievous cats Si and Am to baby-sit. When the mischievous cats go after the baby’s milk, Lady becomes protective but Aunt Sarah blames Lady as the troublemaker and has her muzzled! When Lady escapes she meets and is later rescued by Tramp. Along the way Lady and Tramp share an evening of adventures as Tramp shows Lady how a dog’s life is supposed to be lived, including the memorable spaghetti dinner. After Lady is re-united with her family, Tramp later saves the day and gains the love and respect from Lady and her family.
Some of our favorite scenes/lines are the romantic spaghetti dinner with Lady and Tramp. Then when Darling sends Jim out for chop suey late at night, I am sure plenty of you can relate to the late night odd pregnancy cravings . And when Tramp says “when the baby moves in, the dog moves out,” My brothers animals moved out not long after baby moved in. Watching the kids sway and dance to the music throughout the movie was an added bonus!
The Blu-ray has some awesome features:
- Disney Second Screen: Inside Walt’s Story Meetings* (I’ve not used second screen yet but am really looking forward to trying it out with Lady and the Tramp)
- Audio Commentary: Inside Walt’s Story Meetings
- Diane Disney Miller: Remembering Dad
- Three Never-Before-Seen Deleted Scenes
- Never Recorded Song: “I’m Free as the Breeze”
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
