Have you heard? There’s a new condition going around this season. It’s called ‘Layaway Regret.’ Experts describe it as feeling the opposite of the common condition ‘buyer’s remorse.’ Many have experience symptoms of general discomfort, mental anguish and a longing feeling. The main cause of ‘Layaway Regret’ is excuses. Lucky for you, we’ve debunked every excuse in the book:
Excuse #1: I’ve never done Layaway before, it seems like too much effort. My aunt says this all the time.
Debunked: It’s all in your head. At Kmart, Layaway is not hard work. Whether you have 1 or 100 items , you can Layaway almost everything on your list without paying a service fee through 11/23. Plus, you can pay in store, online or using a mobile phone. Eight or 12 weeks later (depending on your contract) pick up your items and you’re good to go! Bonus: After you figure out how easy it is, you can Layaway all year round at Kmart! I have done layaway before at Kmart and it is super easy!
Excuse #2: I don’t have time during the Holiday season to Layaway.
Debunked: Plan now with Layaway, get your holiday shopping done early, pay for it over time and have it just in time for gift giving! Go ahead and ask your family and friends what they want this year and start making your list. The sooner you Layaway, the better chance you have at getting the hottest toys and electronics locked away before everyone else. Bonus: You can relax over the holidays and avoid crazy lines! This is something that I totlly agree with! Wouldn’t it be great this year to not have to worry about finding the perfect gift? If you do your shopping now when Christmas gets in a little over 100 days!
Excuse #3: I’m not a ShopYourWay Member.
Debunked: That’s hardly an excuse since signing up for the Sears and Kmart rewards program, ShopYourWay only takes a few minutes (LINK to sign up here). You don’t need to be a ShopYourWay Rewards Member to use Kmart Layaway, but you will get MORE. Members earn points on every purchase that can be redeemed next time you shop (look for chances to get more points)! Members also have access to secret sales and extra discounts which helps you stay close to your holiday budget. If you’re opening a Layaway contract as a ShopYourWay Member, we’ll also waive your minimum purchase fee through 9/21. I signed up in less than a minute so you know it is super easy!
Now that your excuses have been dismissed, you have no reason to suffer from ‘Layaway Regret’. It’s time to make your list, check it twice and make a Layaway that’s really nice!

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I have not used layaway at Kmart before but it sounds like a great way to start Christmas shopping early. I only wish Kmart was closer to me.

I love Layaway! I used to do it every year at Walmart until they stopped. It is about the only way, aside from the lottery and a miracle, that I can afford to get any Christmas for my family. I love that you can pay online (or used to be able to). I will be going this weekend to do some shopping for Christmas and if I am lucky can to it 2x before it is here. I try to make mine not to huge so I don’t mess up and can’t get it out of layaway jail! I suggest everyone try it!

I didnt know you could pay it online or mobile. I’ve never done layaway before. I’m worried that if i put something on layaway it will go on sale and i’ll be stuck paying full price.

I have used layaway many times over the years at KMart. My mother always did it too. It is a good way to get items that are on sale, but I do not have enough money at the time, and I come back later and can still get it for that price! It is awesome!

I love layaway! I have used it at Kmart and other stores. I love being able to pay an item off over time and not have to stress about having it for Christmas. I like the peace of mind knowing I have the gift, but I also don’t have to worry about the kids finding it before the holiday. 🙂
