Learning the Books of the New Testament

Jan 09, 2014 | Rita

I will never forget the little song that I learned in Sunday School so I could learn the books of the New Testament. It is the same little jingle that I taught my children so they could learn them all. Here it is listed below for you:

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Acts and the letter to the Romans, First and Second Corinthians, Galatians and Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, First and Second Thessalonians, First and Second Timothy, Titus and Philemon, Hebrews, James, First and Second Peter, First and Second and Third John, Jude and Revelation.

I found this video on YouTube that has it actually being sung.

How do you teach your children the books of the Bible?

Our church does fun activities every week at the church to teach children about the bible. They do a story board felt and then they do a craft and sing songs and then discuss. I was always going to church when I was younger and I think its the best way to learn about the bible is having fun

I agree! I enjoyed learning this song when I was young and I think that is why it has stuck with me.

I haven’t started doing this yet with my four year old. I do plan on putting him in Awana when he is old enough. They have books and the kids memorize Bible verses and the boks of the Bible.

I have been trying to find an easy way to teach children the New Testament books, and this one seems like it would work well. I have used songs like this for other things, so I have faith in this one!

I was an army brat growing up and we moved around a LOT. So I don’t have a lot of memories of going to Sunday School. But I remember a little jingle much like that one that we learned in vacation Bible School.
