Lesley Stowe’s Raincoast Crisps

Feb 28, 2011 | Rita

When you are looking for great grown-up party foods look no further than Lesley Stowe Fine Foods Ltd.
I was lucky enough to get to review some their raincoast crisps and let me tell you these are perfect for dips, cheese balls, or even my mother in-laws famous homemade salsa (nope she won’t even give me the recipe.) They come in several flavors so I’m sure you will find one that fits your palate and needs.

The Original Raincoast Crisps are perfect for the salsa I mentioned earlier. The flavor is a little nutty with a little sweet. There are some spices in the there as well so they blend perfectly with the spices of the salsa. Because the flavors are all subtle this is the perfect “cracker” to pair with just about anything.

The Cranberry Hazelnut Raincoast Crisp I ate as a snack. I love cranberries so this was a perfect afternoon snack for me. This would also pair nicely with holiday parties dinners and parties. I could even see these being used for some jams and jellies. The flavors would blend very nicely.

The Rosemary Raisin Pecan Raincoast Crisps was a perfect match for soft cheese like Brie (the only soft cheese I was brave enough to try), and well as pesto. I make my own pesto and this is a great as a snack. to  me these work well will any Italian flavored items or even smoked salmon.

The Fig and Olive Raincoast Crisps was a different story for me. First I hate figs, I hate the taste of them, the very thought of them make me sick. So my husband had to give these a try. He ate them with everything. I mean everything! Salsa, pesto, cheeses, you name it he ate it. I think he even tried them out with peanut butter (He’s got a cast iron stomach.) He loved them though, said they were very flavorful and he really enjoyed how crispy they were.

Finally there was the Salty Date and Alomnd Raincoast Crisps. These were another variety I didn’t try. Not because I didn’t want to but because my husband and his friends got a hold of them. They ate with salsa, and plain. It was during a “guys night”. These replaced the usual chips and dip, peanuts, that sort of thing. Since there wasn’t even a crumb left in the box I assume they enjoyed them.

{PROS} Great flavors, beautiful packaging, website is very helpful and includes recipes and videos.

{CONS} Some flavors will be eaten before you can even try them
