If you have been with me a while then you know that I love bibles and have a good number of them. that is why I am so excited to bring you the Life in Christ Bible today. I am certain it is one that you all will love and there is even a giveaway!
There are a couple of different cover options for you including a hardcover and assortment leather soft choices.
I received the brown leather soft one and let me tell you the cover feels as smooth as butter. As you can see in the picture above the cover is very simple which I find that I like. It is the New King James Version (NKJV) which for those who don’t know was commissioned in 1975 by Thomas Nelson Publishers. So it has been around for a while.
What sets the Life in Christ Bible apart is that it focuses on you and the purpose that God has for your life. It helps you embrace your identity and knowing who God says you are.
As someone who is just beginning this year to get deep into Bible study I can tell you that I am learning things that I didn’t really know before. One of the big things this bible focuses on is learning I matter not because of anything I do but because of who I am. That is something I feel as though I have been missing from a lot of previous religious studies or preaching.
l like the way the beginning of each book is laid out. it gives you some information about the book, the date, occasion, main idea, key verse, and finding identity in it. Then you have an outline in timeline form which helps visualize things better. It doesn’t overwhelm you with information.
Then as you read you will find the words of Jesus written in red. I think that is something most people enjoy. You also have the I Am in the sidebar which will give you some more information. not to mention the cross references to other verses and such. I also love that there are quotes from Charles Spurgeon who I really like.
You also have those Parts in the larger blue tabs that go into greater detail on a particular subject. Those are things I think I will plan to be part of my Bible study next year when I get this year completed.
Another thing I really like are these charts. They are throughout and help put all the important people together in a group. This one is the Political Rulers in the New Testament. With their names, dates, and other information it helps me see the New Testament on a more historical scale.
There are these beautiful maps at the end of the Bible as well. I am visual and like having maps to see where something is or the route someone took. It brings the story to life in a way that makes more understandable.
