It’s the end of January and the end of the first full month of a new year. Well, almost the end of January. I am actually doing this post a little early due to some appointments this week that will keep me busy. Let me tell you that is a lot to take in. I swear the older I get the more quickly time seems to just fly by. January has been a month full of the flu around here.
Let me tell you it nearly took me out at the knees. I somehow managed to be the first to get it and then we passed it back and forth for a couple of weeks. I am blaming the senior citizens because they refused to stay in their rooms when they were sick. They would be out in the living room hacking up their lungs and I swear y’all they would wait until I was better to do that. It was a nightmare. We are all finally over it and I couldn’t be happier for that.
One thing I wanted to start doing this year was actually do a little more of a month in review and share a little more of my life. One way I want to do that is to start taking more pictures on my phone in my daily life. Working at home and living out in the country means I don’t get out into public as much as I would like to. It also means I don’t take as many pictures as I once did. It is something I am trying to break.
So, this month I am sharing some pictures from my camera roll. They aren’t all ones I took but they are a little bit of our lives from this month.
The Big Faker
Look at this thing! She laying there covering her mouth to hide the germs. That’s for the camera cause I promise she dropped that blanket like a hot potato once I moved.
Ma got a new wig and this is the back of it. Her hair is thinning and we wanted to give this a try. She likes it better than the first once we got her to try out.
Food, Food, Food…..
My brother and I are always sending each other pictures of the food we eat. I have no idea why we do it but we do. This is what he sent me when he was at the Mall of Georgia. I mentioned that we were like an hour and a half away. His response was that he wasn’t coming to the house until the plague was over. I don’t blame him at all.
In December my uncle was in the hospital. So, his insurance company sent him these meals this month to help him eat well while he recovers. They are in the freezer waiting to go to someone who needs a little extra hand with food. We didn’t need it but since it part of his recovery program there was no way to refuse them. So, once I was better I took them to someone in need.
She Only Bought Because Her Husband Made Her
My sister in-law sent me this picture of her new suitcase she purchased. I cut her out because she was making hand gestures due to my comment about her not buying one earlier. Actually, I said that she probably didn’t buy actual luggage just a duffel bag.
Snow I Didn’t Get to Play In
Finally, a little snow from a truck where my brother works. He sent this to me and said this was probably as close to snow as would get this year. He’s hateful! He’s not but you can tell that we give each other a hard time about things a lot.
More to Come
January flew by and I know that February will as well. This week, as I said, is going to be a bit busy and since I haven’t done a giveaway yet this month I thought I would get one started before January ends completely. The weekly giveaways will begin on Friday as well so stay tuned for that. I hope that y’all will enjoy the new format for these Month in Review posts. I just felt they needed something a little more than just getting right to the giveaway. Although I do know that some readers just skip down.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

My month started off not so good. I finally ended up with Covid and still have some breathing problems. It did get better though.

It was my birthday, so I took a couple of San Francisco trips (getting home from the second one was hard because of the rain).

I am just still planning my move. The hard part is dealing with the cats. I can’t leave the 2 outside cats, that I have been taking care of for a few years now. I’ll have to trap them, I guess. If anyone has any suggestions. They can’t stay, as the house is being torn down and a new one being built.
