LipSense! Where Have You Been All My Life?

You have to have been living under a rock to have not heard of LipSense by now. I heard about it first from Lenore’s Instagram where one of her author friends use it all the time. Then RedGate Beauty send an email about trying it out and I thought why not. Now, I don’t know why I hated wearing anything on lips before!

For those who don’t know LipSense Liquid Lip Color is the patented premier product for SeneGence. It is different from convential lipsticks (thank the heavens because I loath lipsticks entirely, said in my Grinch voice) and comes in a variety of shades and textures. Initially LipSense is  sold as a set that  includes LipSense Liquid Lip Color, a moisturizing Gloss, and an Ooops!™ Remover. The remover of course is to take off the product if you need to. to remove the product.

I received the Fly Girl LipSense Liquid Lip Color which is a matte color. You put this on first and I will tell you that for me it burned once it was on. The information Sonya sent said it may tingle but this was much stronger. The reason behind the tingle is that it contains cosmetic grade Denatured Alcohol which creates a bacteria free tube. That tingle is more noticeable the drier you lips are and goes away once you put on the gloss. After about two weeks of wearing the color there is no tingle when I put it on. It is really a deep red and when I put it on the first time it was weird. You touch your lips together which goes against what we are taught when applying color. However I didn’t want to touch them together. It was really matte, like I could feel it. If that makes sense in any way.

 

Next I applied the Orchid Moisturizing Gloss which has a pink tint to it.  The moment it went on my lips all of the burn stopped and they felt great. If the color makes them feel weird the gloss makes them feel like a million bucks.  The gloss is the “magic” sealer as well as being a moisturizer. You can reapply it throughout the day and before meals to ensure your color lasts for the longest time.

I got about 14 hours worth of wear out of mine, although you can get up to 18 hours worth of wear. In fact, it is guaranteed to last anywhere from 4-18 hours of wear. It is waterproof, smudge proof, kiss proof, and non-drying. After a couple of weeks of wearing my lips feel so much better. One big thing is  you CAN’T wear any wax based lip products because they break down the color.
