Every single person – no matter where they are in their lives – deserves to enjoy the luxuries. Now, luxury to one person isn’t the same as luxury to another. We all have different tastes, ideas and needs, but if you know what you consider to be the luxuries in your life, you’re halfway there.
Luxuries can be a life changer. They can make the difference between having nothing to look forward to and everything to look forward to, and whether your luxury is eating a full steak dinner instead of ramen noodles this week, or you get a chance to try Rocky Patel premium cigars on a night out, identify it. Work it out. Make a list of all of the things that are luxurious to you and then plan out when you want to enjoy them in your week. These little things could be the shining light on your otherwise very boring day. While you may know what the luxuries are that you enjoy the most, we’ve put together a list of all of the little luxuries that you need in life – see if you missed any!
- New perfume or aftershave. Sometimes a spritz of the right scent can make you feel like a whole new person. There is a lot of trial and error involved in choosing the right scent for you. So much so, some people choose to go out and create a whole new one that appeals to them. Searching for the right perfume is a luxury because this is something that people can even remember you by. Scents create memories and when you catch a whiff of the perfume you’ve chosen, it’ll transport you back to a specific time in your life. Most of all, it’ll transport others when they smell the scent on you.
- Getting a manicure. It doesn’t matter how you identify, you need to think about scheduling regular manicures. The way you treat your hands really matters. If you know that people will judge your personal hygiene based on whether your nails are short and clean, then it makes sense to book a manicure regularly and keep on top of your hands. You can pair it with a pedicure, too, and make it a whole event.
- Jewelry. Everyone loves something shiny, right? Whether you want to build a collection of jewelry pieces or you just love the costume jewelry that you wear day to day, you should consider jewelry as a luxury that you don’t often keep in life. There are so many different pieces out there from earrings to rings, and you can choose the budget you set for them, too. Some people consider precious gems an investment, and it’s something that you can bet will be both beautiful and easy to enjoy in life.
- Interior design. Yes, house decorating is a luxury! You can go room to room replacing and upgrading your furniture, changing your decor and choosing new pieces. Remember when you started out after you left home? You might have had a floor bed and a TV. Now? Now you’re grown and ready to use the throw cushions and bookshelves you’ve had your eye on for years. You’re ready to think about all of the books you’ve built up over time and finally include them in your home. Interior design is a true luxur to have in life and it can make all the difference to the pride you take in your home.
- A wine fridge. If you’re someone who loves chilled wine and you love to match your wine to your meat, then you need a wine fridge in your life so that you can actually enjoy that sip. Wine is actually becoming a lucrative investment piece these days, with more and more people paying through the nose for wine that has been aged for years. A wine fridge in the house is really a personal luxury that will make a big difference to your meals.
- A great pack of playing cards. No, really. Playing cards may seem like a simple addition to your house, but it’s actually one of the simplest things that you can buy for yourself that works everywhere. On a road trip and stopping for a rest? Bring out your cards. Want to learn fancy magic tricks for fun? You need to get those cards out. You can play so many ways with an old school set of playing cards and there are so many decks out there to choose from.
- A built in sound system. Are you someone who loves music? Well, then you need a brand new sound system. Your home should be filled with music and you should be able to dance whenever you want to and to music playing as loud as you want it to be! Pay for the premium Spotify and you can listen to music unlimited.
- Flowers. Honestly, one of the most luxurious things that you can have in the house is fresh flowers. With the right vase, a bouquet of fresh flowers can be the most beautiful thing that you can have and you can add them in pretty much every single room of the house if you want to!
- Luxury stationery. When was the last time you put pen to paper and wrote a letter to someone? So many people leave this out of their lives because they have all of their time spent with email and social media messaging. The thing is, there is a luxury and beauty in a set of letters, envelopes and the right fountain pen! You can sit down and handwrite letters to family members and friends, handwriting cards and making occasions special once again. You won’t regret the time that you spend writing, either, because it can feel so indulgent to have thick, beautiful stationery.
These luxuries are far and above what some people would consider to be a luxury. Your luxury may be a hot meal. No matter what you do, indulge in what matters to you.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
