I live in t-shirts! When you work from home you simply just don’t have to dress up that often and tees seem to be the preferred dress of choice around here. However I also do a lot of video conference calls as well and want my tee to look nice and not be sloppy. While it is okay to wear them I need them to be more than a plain old t-shirt. Since I am a budding “Greenie” I love to find tees that are organic cotton and companies that give something back. Enter Lonesome George & Co. who started in a unique sort of way with a tortoise.
After living in Ecuador for 10 + years and visiting the Galapagos Islands on several occasions we came across Lonesome George—its most famous resident and a worldwide conservation icon. As the last surviving Pinta Tortoise, Lonesome George’s cautionary tale of extinction unfolded as a result of human actions and mismanagement of scarce resources. Inspired by his story, we began Lonesome George & Co. to educate tomorrow’s youth and to prevent other Lonesome George situations from happening at a time of frightening and increasing extinction rates. Our triple-bottom-line business model ensures that 10% of every purchase directly funds youth educational programs that teach and empower future generations—to make better choices in our interdependent world. Lonesome George’s spirit and legacy lives on through the clothes we wear and the choices we make.
I received the Biodiversity tee in Raspberry to review and I will tell you that the color is more than just eye-catching. I love the feel of the 100% Certified Organic Peruvian cotton against my skin and that fact that it falls just below my hips makes it even more perfect. It wears and washes very well although I should say that I washed it inside out with like colors.
The hand prints are noticeable but not so much that they stand out above all else and the blue of the Lonesome George & Co. wording really is the perfect contrast on this tee. The wording states: “Bio Diversity Includes Me” and like all Lonesome George & Co tees the Lonesome George logo is attached on a little patch on the bottom corner.
Lonesome George & Co. has so much more than just t-shirts. They also have some fabulous accessories as well as a super great kids line that will make your little one look cook and be hip at the same time. I highly recommend that you check out Lonesome George & Co. or even better enter below to win a tee of your very own.
The Giveaway has now ended and the winner has been announced on the Winner Board.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I have always been intrigued by Lonesome George’s story, and was soooo sad to hear he had died. (That was only a couple of weeks ago, in case you missed it.) I love that this company shares mine and others’ interest in good ol’ George! I love the ‘Om’ Women’s t-shirt!
Thanks!

I do love this hoodie, love the color, love the double zipper, love the sentiment and message especially. Never heard of this before and actually am feeling pretty ignorant that we have wildlife that is becoming extinct right before our very eyes. Had no idea that this happens and our attack on environment and ecosystems have not been able to save with all our resources. Money can’t be all and DO all, we really do need change. Sad, I read the mission statement and the story of George. Sad…
