It is day three of the 25 days of me and this one is one that pretty most of readers know already. I am an avid reader. I’m talking three to four books a day on an average day. Why do I read so much? I would love to say it is one thing or another but it honestly isn’t.
I learned to read at a very young age, before I even started school. It was something that I have always loved. Books fascinated me when I was young. There were so many places to travel to and adventures to be had within the pages of a book.
I could do things I would never do in real life. I wasn’t afraid or scared of my shadow. I was the brave heroine of all of the stories. I could travel with the Fellowship to return a ring or fly in a hot air balloon Around the World. I was whomever in the the story I wanted to be.
When I got older, I discovered romance books where even the ugly girl finds a happily ever after. They were my refuge, place where everything would turn out okay regardless of how real life seemed to be at the moment. Again, there were places to go, things to do, nd so many different boyfriends to fall in love with.
I could be a part of a motorcycle club one day and off to a new world with my alien husbands the next. Maybe travel back to Scotland and rewrite history. Who knew where I was going or what I was doing. The pages of a book hold such magic. They not only entertain us but take to places we never dreamed of.
I am one of those people that can see whatever I am reading like a movie playing in my head. A good book for me is like watching a good movie. The scenes come to life, all within my brain. I don’t know if that is true for everyone. However, when I read if my brain doesn’t begin to form the scene and it start to play then I know the book is not for me.
Reading holds more joy for me in the end. I do watch television and do have a few programs that I enjoy watching but reading is what I do most of the time. I’m one of those rare people who still reads the actual newspaper as well.I enjoy having the feel of the paper in my hands. I’m not only an actual paper or book readers though, I adore my kindle as well.

I started reading pretty young myself, and get twitchy if there’s no book nearby! I also like to cook and go to museums and rock concerts (masked now, but hey)…
