You may have noticed not here but on my other blogs as well that I am not posting as often as I use to. The truth is I have been feeling a bit burnt out and depressed over the last couple of months. So I really cut back on how often I post and what I accept and do. I love this job and never want to take it for granted. However I know that I have to take care of myself as well so I that is what I have been doing.
I get up and write a post or two a day, answer emails, and do various other things then that is it for the day. I do check emails throughout the day. It will most likely stay this way throughout the summer as I work towards get myself back together and back into the groove. I do have big things planned and I promise you all that funk I am in will pass.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Rita, you do need to take care of yourself. I didn’t expect to hear from you at all..or at least very little..over the past week or so, because I thought you would go ahead and take a vacation! As a long time fan I would miss you on vacation and would be excited when you got back. Take a rest if you need it. I always need an absolute minimum of three days–the first day I bump around worrying that there is something to do; the second day I can relax a little; the third day I actually rest so that I am ready to get back to things. (Better if there are a couple of more days for resting)
Take care.

A few extra days are always nice. Like I said I am just slowing down just a bit. It has actually been pretty great to turn everything off by 9 am and have the rest of the day. I even read a few books just for fun!

You have to do what you have to do for yourself. If you are the best you that you can be then everyone benefits.

That is true. I just want to spend a little time getting to know me again and have a little fun with the family. I am in no way leaving because this amazing job has given me something I never thought I would ever have in this life….my own voice. I am just working a little less and playing a little more.

Dear Rita,
Sweetheart I know you feel a great responsibility in what you do, to your fans or Friends, and to all that you review, the brands, etc. But you are right, you must take care of yourself. Sometimes things can get overwhelming, and if you don’t allow yourself time to get rest, reflect, redirect, or whatever is needed for you to be mentally and physically in good health, you will make yourself very sick. I’m sorry you are having this hard time, and my prayers are with you. Believe me when I say, we love Rita’s Reviews, and no matter how long it takes, we will be here when you return. Just take care of yourself girl. Your health is the most important thing. Big Hugs!

Thank you so much Lynette! You are all so wonderful and I promise that I am not going away just slowing the pace a bit for the summer. 1-2 a day rather than 4 or more a day.

We all have those times when we’d rather crawl back into bed and pull the covers up. Give yourself a little time to work past the funk and you’ll be better for it!
