Another food book! This one is actually about the food and not a trick! I check out the food related books over at NetGalley everyday just to see if there is one or two that will peak my interest. Meatless All Day did because even though I am not a vegetarian I do typically once a week have a no meat day. I have no idea why I do that but it is very refreshing when I do.
About the Book
Move over bland, wimpy tofu and lackluster salads—Meatless All Day redefines meat-free meals as colorful and super-satisfying. Whether you’re a committed vegetarian or are trying to cut down on meat, the hearty, creative recipes in Meatless All Day will inspire you to cook in new ways. Here, you’ll discover Beet Wellington, Spaghetti with White Bean Balls, Quinoa-Polenta Cakes with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce and White Bean Puree, Roasted Root Vegetable and Goat Cheese Salad with Lemon-Tahini Vinaigrette, and Baklava Sticky Buns—fare that will make avowed carnivores jealous. One secret behind these dishes: high-impact ingredients (like miso, tomato paste, and mushrooms).
To ensure that readers’ dishes come out perfectly, the book opens with key cooking techniques, such as Tips for Perfect Vegetables, The Art of Cooking Eggs, and Tips for a Golden Brown, Crispy Exterior. It then lists 45 “power ingredients” that lend vegetarian food a meaty flavor, meaty texture, or both. The heart of the book is 85 ultra-flavorful recipes, with meal suggestions and ideas for making non-vegan fare vegan.
My Thoughts
The beginning of the books has a lot of great tips especially for someone who isn’t really a vegetarian which I am not. If I was going to transition into that lifestyle then this would be the book I would want to start with. It is full of information. Once I got into the recipes I was surprised at the number of egg recipes there are but again for someone who doesn’t live this lifestyle I enjoyed them very much. The Black Bean Burgers for lunch for a huge hit for a gathering that we recently had. All in all Meatless All Day is a wonderful book that I would recommend to anyone wanting to know more about the vegetarian lifestyle or who wants a little variety in their meal planning.
Purchase the Book
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Now this book sounds really interesting to me. I would love to try new recipes that are meatless besides pasta, which is my go to. My husband would have meat with a side of meat everyday if I made it. Thanks!

I am always worried about getting enough protein, etc. when you go meatless. I’m glad this book explains how you can get enough protein and other nutrients.

This book looks great. I am trying to incorporate more vegetable centered meals into my home. We tend to lean towards pasta and I am working on making my family eat healthier. Thanks for presenting this option!
