When it comes to surviving as a species, we’ve done a very good job. Human life expectancy has risen from 31-40 years old to 70-80 years old in comparison to, say, 100 years ago. As you may know, the oldest people on the planet have survived to be nearly 120 years old! However, there is still opportunity for improvement, since we continue to lose far too many lives worldwide due to illnesses and accidents. So, here are some medical advances we’re hoping to see in the near future in order to save even more lives!
Complete life preservation
Being unable to save someone after an extremely lethal accident is a problem that claims many lives. Someone who has been shot, for example, will lose blood faster than any surgeon will be able to get in to remove the bullet and then patch them up before a blood transfusion. The issue with blood loss is that not enough oxygen is getting around the body to keep us alive. This can result in brain damage and organ failure very quickly. In reality, scientists are on the verge of preserving life by rapidly cooling the body to halt down life processes. As a result, the body goes into hibernation to allow doctors and other medical personnel to save a person’s life.
Curing cancer once and for all
Let’s face it: cancer is one of the world’s deadliest diseases, and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. While there are ways to cure cancer, far too many people are still forced to undergo arduous treatments such as chemotherapy and surgery in order to be free of the disease. We hope that one day there will be no need to be concerned about cancer because there will be a medical procedure to rapidly and effectively eliminate it. For the time being, let us thank our lucky stars that some cancers can be cured and that oncology in itself has developed this far.
Instantaneous pain relief
Physical discomfort is, without a doubt, one of the worst things a person can go through. It’s enough to drive anyone insane to be able to get rid of the agony and get comfortable. We believe that having a rapid, effective, and widely available pain reliever that does not risk drug addiction would be a tremendous contribution to medicine, and we hope that it will arrive soon, and that these new drugs will not be dangerous to health like some of the drugs Morris Bart Zantac lawyer has sued the manufacturers over.
Abolish mental health problems
Finally, mental health issues are one of the most pressing issues that people confront today. Nobody should ever have to suffer from depression, anxiety, autism, ADHD, or even Alzheimer’s disease because their mind is not in the correct frame of mind. While there are a wide range of treatments available for all of the above, being able to prevent it from happening in the first place would be a huge step forward in the medical industry. A cure for all mental health issues would save millions of lives, so we’re crossing our fingers that it won’t be too long in coming.
