Monday Morning Coffee: 10/17/16

Oct 17, 2016 | Rita

I thought I would take a little time each Monday morning and share something fun with you. It could be a simple little story about something that happened or maybe just a picture. Just a little something that will help make the week begin a little bit brighter and on a better note. Mondays are extremely busy for me and I always feel like I am drowning on that day of the week.

Not to mention that I can only have 1 cup of coffee a week now and I have chosen to have it on the day that I need it the most. I had to cut back drastically because of my blood pressure and blood sugar. So sit back and (I hope that you will) enjoy these little posts each week.

Need a Do Over

Lord if I ever needed a do over week it was the last one. Well maybe it was more the last twenty four hours. Last week was a bit rough in that was so much to get done. However last night was just awful. I got a headache at about 1 pm yesterday and it never went away. Add int he kids seemed to be at each other throats all day as did the old people. I never heard so many people nick-picking at one another. Finally at 8 last night I had enough. I put the twins to bed and simply went to bed myself. I just left them in the living room to argue it out. Nothing I said all day seemed to get through to them so I left them to it.

This morning I got early enough to just enjoy the peace and quiet of them being asleep before they wake up and start up again. I’m not sure what the problem is but they have each been in such foul moods lately. We haven’t had a full peaceful day in about two months and I am not sure what to do about it. Nothing seems to work!

Any suggestions?

Oh I hope you feel better today, and hopefully they will be in a wonderful mood! Our little on has been a bit off lately too…I think his is the weather changes! Oh I would love a do over too….Friday came home from the store to find our senior dog…very ill. I think he has a stroke and was loosing blood. Oh it was so hard…had no warning. Rushed him to the vet and had to put him down. 🙁 Oh…we are so sad. I know he had a great long life…but miss him dearly!

My Mom worked in a school for many years and always believed the moon had to do with the kids’ moods. She said when it was near full moon the kids misbehaved a lot more.

I would try to find a decaffinated coffee that is good enough you don’t feel as deprived (as having coffee can help you get through this kind of thing). I had a miserable morning, and I sometimes try to take a half-aspirin along with food. An elderly tenant moved in under me and is complaining about my vacuuming. I don’t vacuum, I use swiffer and sweep from allergies, but she is not convinced and has been making trouble for me. I told her “representative” this morning I’m hiring a lawyer if she keeps making false complaints about me. She a real crab, and sits there all day and night just listening to me. At least I’m gone all day, but it is creepy.

Kids get to be a certain age and sometimes they just go after one another. It is probably something really petty. So no clue except if you can spend time with them separate and one might spill the beans.
My week just blew. Nothing went right, I am hoping this week is better. There is a rumor the thieves on the block and troublemakers will be moving I am hoping it is true.

If nothing else, your story made ME feel better. Better week ahead.

So sorry to hear you’re having a rough time. Family dynamics are like that, with the ebb and flow of moods. I wish I could offer some solution, but I think all I can really do is wish you a better week starting now. Good luck!

I agree about the moon and last night was a hunter’s moon, full. As a Mom I saw these sorts of things go in cycles ….so hopefully this will move into better territory for you and the kids soon. A little prayer for you guys. 🙂

I get up early and enjoy an hour or two of some quiet time before the kids get up.
It’s nice to get a bit of a refresh before another busy day begins and some much needed
    Time alone with my wife.
