I started a new series this month and then didn’t do any more posts or even the Friday Cocktails. This month was challenging I will admit and at one point I had to say enough was enough. I had to take a step back and ask myself if I was trying to do too much and setting myself back when it came to my health and emotional well being.
So I stopped writing and only posted things that were pre-written and ready to go. Doing that gave me some breathing room that I never allowed myself to have before. I found a sense of freedom. There are times that I forget that I am the owner of this site. That I decide what to write and when to write. I feel like I haven’t gotten lost in the whole if I don’t post then people will forget me.
Balance has been the one thing I have had a problem with since the very beginning. I grew up with workaholic parents and it passed down to me. I learned that I had to work as hard as possible in order to feel like I was successful. While we did occasionally take vacations and weekends at the lake, most of my memories of growing up are of my parents working hard for us.
So I felt that was something I needed to do regardless of my health and well-being. The day I stopped writing for April and began to focus on writing for May I began far more productive than ever. There was no pressure or deadlines. I told myself I was going to write an article or two each day and be good with that. In doing that I was able to focus more and surprisingly get a lot of work done. May is ready to go and I am looking forward to what it will bring for all of us.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

It’s been kind of annoying in ways I can’t define, but there have been fun parts (going to San Francisco for a weekend, psyching up for Indie Bookstore Day coming up Saturday).

My month went fast. We got a lot done around the house. We started a bunch of flowers and veggies from seeds. I am excited about getting our gardens going.

My month had its ups and downs. Sure am enjoying this springtime weather and all of the wonderful blooms and flowers. Had a few appointments and seems like I did a ton of driving this month.

April has been a month of highs and lows (too many financial hits that I feel I am treading water); it sort of feels like im in limbo.

My nephew was born on April 3rd so, it’s been a joyous time. But, unfortunately, my Mom’s health took a bit of a tumble during the last couple of weeks. I am her primary caregiver so, it’s been an adjustment, to say the least. You take the good with the bad & everything in between! 💙

I am helping the family move my brother-in-law to an assisted living facility. He needs professional help after he was so sick. He is also getting older. He has a lifetime of accumulation.

April was such a busy month for me with the packing and the cleaning before the move and then the unpacking and the organizing after the move on April 18th. Loving the new place though and utilizing some of you interior decorating ideas from your posts over the years.
