February was a super busy month. Not as busy as March is going to be, but still pretty busy. We made three trips to the emergency room this month, and to be honest, I don’t want to see the inside of a hospital again. However, I will be there for several ties this week. Isn’t it crazy that the older you get, the more you need doctors and hospitals? I don’t remember being this sick that much when I was younger. Of course, maybe I just didn’t notice it as much.
The scary part is that if I am this sick, then who will take care of the seniors if something happens to me? Not to mention my children. I know that my ex will take care of the kids. He has made that clear with everything he’s done recently. I have siblings as well, but I am not sure if they will be able to handle the seniors the way I do. That’s not me patting my own back either. That’s me saying these old people are more work than young people. My mother has to be watched when she takes any medication. If not, then pills will end up hidden in her housecoat or on the couch. Liquids are poured out because she doesn’t like taking anything.
She has to be forced to get vaccinations because she doesn’t see the point in any of them. It took me years to get her to take the flu shot. She got two of her COVID vaccines and has stated firmly that she will not take another one. I know when to pick my battles, so I said that was fine. She got two, and I am happy with that. She still needs her Dtap booster and a shingles vaccine. I’m not even going to go into all the excuses she has for these. Finally, her doctor told her that at her age she needed these. Shingles weren’t something she wanted to get.
What Else
In other parts of my life, things have been going well. I am almost caught up with a few things I need to do. In fact, I am a little bit ahead on a few things. I am also awaiting my new planner, which I can’t wait to share with y’all. I got one back in January, but I found that it didn’t do everything I needed it to do. I got some custom stickers made to help take care of my needs as well. I can’t wait for it to arrive and to get set up. I promise to share pictures and more when I get it.
Shows & Activities
I am still in the middle of watching Death in Paradise and am still enjoying it so much. Dewayne is my favorite character on there. He makes me laugh so much. I also watched House of Gucci recently. I will say I enjoyed it. Ma and i both thought it was a good movie. .

1. Daily Symptom Checker is the tool I use to know where I am health wise every day. is something that I do a lot during the warmer month. This post shares my recipe for that and I think y’all will enjoy it.
2. Improving the reading skills of your children is so important. I don’t know where I would be if my parents had encouraged to read. It changed my entire world and gave ways to see all sorts of things through the pages of a book.
3. A good pair of sunglasses are so important. I wear sunglasses every time I go outside regardless of the time of year. The sun is harsh on my blue eyes and the sunglasses help me be able to go outside and then back inside without having to adjust.
Run the Year Update
Since I was so busy in February I didn’t get as many miles as I wanted in. I try for at least a mile a day but being at the hospital or the doctor’s offices means things get changed around. I have to get my walk in during the morning or I won’t be able to. In the afternoons I get too tired. I have to take a nap around one o’clock in the afternoons or I can’t make it til dinner. I am getting a bit better but if I have been running around all morning my afternoons are shot. I do good to make it home.
For February I got 15 miles in altogether. Like I said it wasn’t the full amount that i want to do but it was more than half of what I had planned for the month. Fingers crossed that I manage to do a bit better in march.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Not much happened for me at all in February, I watched a lot of Prime, HULU and Netflix, didn’t do much housework or reading, was bummed because we didn’t get much snow here…all in all, I am looking forward to March, Sunday the 6th is my birthday and spring is right around the corner. Hoping that motivates me…lol

My month was very mixed – and I’m very stressed about money so fingers crossed.
Reading of your month I am swept back to being my mom’s sole caregiver 24/7 for almost 7 years. I wouldn’t change a thing, but it can be a LOT. I too developed some health issues and worried more about what would happen to mom if I couldn’t care for her than i did for myself. Once she passed (oh how I miss her) it took me 2 years to even start to regain my health. So the thing I most want to say is – care for your own health so you can be there for mom. Get what help you can, even a few days here or there, to give yourself some time that is less stressful as you deal with your health.
Sending you the very best wishes – for you and your family.

We had some health issues. First my boyfriend was experiencing dizzy spells and he is a contractor by trade so he wasn’t able to work. He was ultimately diagnosed with an inner ear infection. I was in pain from a gum infection and needed a tooth pulled. The water/utility organization had to come out and install a new water meter saying ours was reading at a zero. Now that that is done I cannot wait to see my water bill as they said it was at that reading for months. Ugh. come on spring!!

It was my husband’s birthday and he had to travel to Canada on business. My eldest son had to have all 4 of his wisdom teeth removed. I helped my other son apply to college. My youngest child is about to lose a front tooth. Time is flying.
