This Month in Review is something new I wanted to do this year. I don’t know how well it is going to turn out and while I am running a giveaway with this one I don’t know that I will be doing that with all of them in the future or not. This month is more or less a trial run. I saw these flowers and that little yellow one sticking amongst all the others just made me happy. I needed that smile this month for sure.
This month has been overwhelming. There is simply no other word for it. The first two weeks were filled with doctor’s appointments. The first of my mother’s dermatology appoint where the doctor cut off a growth on her back. It came back as cancer so on Thursday we are going in so they can cut the cancerous area out hopefully getting it all. The doctor says he will send what he cuts out to the lab so we can see how far it has spread. She also has to see a specialist to verify it hasn’t spread to her lymph nods. Right now they think it has not which is a good thing. That means this surgery could be all she needs. Fingers crossed!
My uncle has seen the neurosurgeon who will handle his spine surgery but we have to have more tests done. For those who don’t know my uncle lives with us and I am both his and my mother’s caregiver. He started complaining about back pain a few months ago and we were finally able to get in and see the doctor about ii. A CAT Scan and referral later and we are at more tests. Not to mention he needs either a bypass or stent in his leg due to a clot that showed up on the CAT scan. We see that doctor at the beginning of March.
What about me?
While all of this has been going on I have been having a time of it personally. Between not having the kids and my own health issues I feel as though nothing has gone well. I finally spoke with my doctor about it and we mapped out a new plan for me. I have also been making sure I take some time for my own self care even if it just to have cup of tea or soemthing. Not to mention eating better which is still something I am getting used to. Fewer times eating out was a big goal for January. With so many appointments it was easy to say I would grab soemthing at a restaurant for dinner. Also taking the time to relax a little has helped. There have been rough days but that is to be expected.
Shows & Activities
This month I have been watching Vera on BritBox as season 11 episodes come out every month Monday. I love this show and if you haven’t had a chance to watch it I highly recommend it. Vera is a DCI who is more than a little rough around the edges but she always solves the case. I have also been watching Death in Paradise but I have gone back to the beginning of it and am currently working my way through season four.

I sucked at this for January! I walked a total of 5 miles this month. Why you ask? Because this month was just too much more me. I had far more bad days than good. There were plenty of days where I couldn’t get up and walk to the bathroom without breathing heavily. I am on some new meds that may help with this.
That was my January for 2022. It wasn’t the best of months but it wasn’t the wort either. Tomorrow is the new start of a fresh month and a chance to make it even better.

This month was not my best. We probably had covid, we were home quarantining half the month, and I just lost my biggest client. Onward and upward from here.

My month as a review would read like one of those boring magazines in the doctors office that you stare at without really seeing cause you are worried about your doctor’s visit .lol

It was my son and my husbands birthdays. It was cold but not too snowy thankfully. It was also a bit of a disappointment as we were hoping our KC Chiefs would be going to the Super Bowl.

Not much happened here. So much snow and cold weather keeps us inside. With more snow coming today. Doing a lot of reading.
DebP says
January always presents challanges. It always has our two weeks of miserably cold weather, but we did get enough snow to prevent a drought later this year. We got our booster in December, and so far seem to have fended off COVID. So, physically well, but got hit by an irritated nerve, which means some physio and stretching. But, count our blessings – we have so many that go unappreciated.

January in review includes my boyfriend experiencing a lot of dizzy spells and was ultimately diagnosed with an inner ear infection. i, on the other hand had a lot of pain due to a dental / gum infection and had a tooth pulled. Now we are in search of a new generator for this new storm that is about to hit us.

Our cats keep us laughing and now strays are showing up outside so i feed them for now too.

My Granddaughter came to stay for a week to visit with Gaga and Gampa. She is 2. We had a great time. Had an accidental fall and ended up with cuts and bruises all over my back. We were able to get the glass all cleaned out and the bleeding stopped so decided against going to hospital for stitches. Well on the way to healing now.

Some of my family got covid, even after all their shots. I have to take care of a sick family member and a sister with cancer. I
do not think it’s going to get better.

My month in review, January 2022, started out well. I got to spend a lot of time with my son, grandson, & other family members. But on Thursday, January 27, I woke up having trouble breathing & my heart was racing. So I had the joy of going to the ER in an ambulance. I was admitted & had blood work every 2 hours, EKGs, an Echo Cardiagram, & a Cardiac Stress test. Thank the good Lord that every one was negative! I was sent home with medication for high blood pressure & a heart monitor to wear for a week, to see if I might have any arythmias that didn’t show up in the tests. Since I’ve been home I haven’t had any issues at all. I’m going to be a good girl & take my medication, watch my diet, & get more exercise. Here’s to February being a better month for us all!

My month in review was about the same; stayed home a lot, was under the weather for a day or so, got some snow. Celebrated a birthday but other than that it’s been pretty boring overall.
Bea LaRocca says
So sorry to hear about the health issues affecting you and your family, I will keep you all in my prayers. As for myself, the month has been much the same as usual for me. The highlight of the month was visiting with my granddaughter who was home from college for winter break. I binge-watched Being Human and Teen Wolf which have been added to my list of favorite TV series

January was OK. I pulled a back muscle but due to a new chiropractor, it didn’t set me back like it used to. My mom’s memory is worse, but I’ve found a dementia support group. Mom’s annual appointment went well, we just have to move more and stretch. Hubby was gone a bit more for work. But we all are well!

January was pretty uneventful for me. It has been very cold and snowy so I didn’t venture outside a whole lot. We are working on finishing a family room in the basement so that was how I spent the majority of my free time.
Natalie says
I worked all of January and took no PTO so it was tiring. Work was not as busy as the end of last year. The couch I ordered in November finally came and I redecorated my living room!

My goodness sounds like you had a bad month I will keep your family in my prayers. My month was a busy one lots of running around to do as I was snowed in for the entire holiday season so I had to spend the month catching up on the holidays and sending gifts.

Hmm…my month in review was not good at all. My son came down with Covid and my step-brother is still fighting it off in the hospital. Unfortunately, that isn’t all that happened, but I’d seriously rather just leave it all behind. Here’s to February being better!!!

My January was a repeat of the last year. Go swimming twice a week. Get groceries at the pickup place. Go to Costco once and get roast chicken and other things. I have been well and working hard to keep it that way.
Thanks for the contest.

I didn’t do anything unusual this month. I had the dog groomed, had dentist appointments for me and the kids, and cleaned and cooked as usual.
