The end of May has arrived and, starting tomorrow, the year will be half over. Isn’t that just crazy? It seems that way to me. How has the weather been in your area? It is hot as hell here! I swear it seems to get hotter and hotter every single day. I was out early yesterday morning, and by 10 am I was rolling in sweat every time I got out of the car. Hopefully it will get a little more normal over the summer. Just kidding! It will be even hotter and I will feel like I am going through the hot flashes of five women.
The doctor suggested that I take up something new or, at the least, exercise to help bring my blood pressure back down. He felt that I wasn’t relaxing enough. The truth is that he is correct. Things have been a bit hectic. Medically speaking, the nodules in my mother’s lungs have gotten larger. That means she will have to see a specialist to find out if it is something we need to worry about. There is also some groundglass in them. That means it looks like groundglass and is something that happens, but the reason behind it could be something to worry over.
Not to mention the COPD that seems to have She swears she doesn’t, but the scan she had done showed it. My scans had both good news and worrying news. Everything in the heart is going as well as it possibly can. My cardiologist is very happy with my progress. If I could just bring down my stress levels, However, there is a cyst on one of my ovaries. It could be nothing, but it worries me.
A New Hobby
I always wanted to do pottery and found a class at my local college. I have just started and while it is supposed to help me relax more, it may be driving my blood pressure up. It is not as easy as it looks, but I will admit that when I master something new, I feel pretty good about things. So it may actually be helping more than it is hurting.
Who knows, this may be something I end up being fabulous at. Either way, I am having fun while I learn something new. Plus, if my doctor hadn’t told me to do something, I most likely would not have even tried. I tend to stick with what I know. The class is two months long, so just long enough to learn the basics. I won’t be able to create a masterpiece, but I will be able to do a few things. I have no idea what I am going to do with the pieces that I make, but I know I will figure something out.
Shows & Activities
I have finally gotten to the end of Midsomer Murders. There were 22 seasons and I watched them all. I don’t know what I am going to watch now. Season 23 is in the works. I had been watching Death in Paradise but stopped, so I guess I can finish that. After that, I’ll have to find something new to watch. I am funny about television. I can say I want to watch something and then, five minutes into it, decide that I don’t want to watch it. I have the hardest time finding something that I can enjoy.

Run the Year Update
The doctor asked me to stop doing this until after my procedure. So I did about 50 miles the first couple of weeks of the month, but then I had to stop. I don’t know when he will allow me to get back to it. I will let y’all know how things are going once I am back on it.

My month has been a bit rough – I started a new job so the training/transitioning over from a job I knew extremely well to one that I’m learning from scratch has been tough. My stress strangely has dropped though, as I was in charge of a lot of things at my old job where as this one I’m not, so I got a pay bump but less stress. Everything else has been great!

My month was a “fix it” month. Now that the weather is reasonable and not frozen we were able to start on the outdoor things that needed fixed. New septic system, new drainage system around the house. Hopefully this will put an end to our house flooding every Spring and Fall!

May was pretty awful here. Good news–snow did finally all melt. So gardening is definitely going on. Bad news–my depression kicked in full force when we had all the snow, and then flooding, and then power outages. So I’m having a hard time going outside. Planting flowers. Even making meals, to tell the truth. Oh well, I know this will pass.
Patience.
