Summer is in full swing and AAA expects the major holidays of Memorial Day and Labor Day to aid over eight million motorists. That is a lot especially considering most of it could be avoided by proper auto maintenance. One way is ensuring your car uses quality motor oil. Of course you also have to be sure that the service provider who is changing your oil is pouring quality oil into your car. They are quick to offer discounted services but you need to ask what oil the cheaper service gets you.
MOM is here to help you with that by providing you with an Oil Change Checklist. Just some questions that you can ask and be aware of before you get our oil changed. It is a great list to have and there are actually a few things that I didn’t even know about like viscosity. I have never even heard of this before in my life. I thought when I went in to get my oil changed they did what they were suppose to do and that was that. Now I know better.

My husband handles our car maintenance. He’s very good about doing oil changes every 3000 miles. He just changed my oil last weekend.
I make sure that my oil is checked and changed when it is supposed to. This makes an engine last longer, and I make sure to use the right viscosity of oil for my engine and make sure the oil filter is changed at every oil change!
You know, I’m pretty sure that we do. My husband handles all a of that.
I try to get my oil changed routinely but sometimes life gets in the way lol. I know its not good for my car but I’m due for one soon.

Hubby is the one who is in charge of the car, he keeps tracks on all details and makes sure to do oil change on schedule (approx. every three months in our case)

We do not change as often as we should. My husband changes ours and he’s really busy with our kids’ sports. Plus, it is either too hot, too cold, raining or snowing, garage has toys and bikes in the way, etc, etc. One of those things we let go a lot and is NOT good.

Changing the oil is probably the only thing that I do in a timely manner on our car. I honestly don’t get all of the other maintenance that is required done, at least not timely if I do. But our mechanic says that changing the oil is the most important!
I get my oil changed regularly, I know how important it is to the life of your engine. Plus the yellow wrench indicator shows up reminding me to change the oil.
My husband is really good about making sure we get the oil changed on time. He adds it to his calendar and he also has the auto shop email him when it is due. One less thing on my to do list. 🙂
I try to go every 3000 miles like you are supposed to, but sometimes it goes longer. It all depends on if I have the money that week to do it or not! This would sure help out!

Sometimes when money is not an issue the oil gets changed on a schedule but if there is no money we might get behind a few days.

I usually get my oil changed every 3 months. I miss one every once in a while, but I’m normally pretty good about it.
I do get my oil changed as much as it should be. However, we have a hybrid vehicle and are only required to change the oil every 6 months. Not only are we saving on gas, but we also save on our oil change services.

We went a couple thousand miles over recommendations before changing our oil this last time. My husband usually does it or we take it to a mechanic or oil change business.
We take oil changes very seriously in our household. Canot take chances! The hubby is conscientious about this.

I had a great driver’s ed teacher, he taught me the importance of changing the oil. Since I began driving, I’ve always had my oil changed every 3,000 miles or before I went on a long road trip. I keep my oil change receipts in my glove compartment, plus the garage puts a reminder sticker on my windshield, helps to remember. 🙂
I don’t drive much so don’t go by monthly, but try to do it by mileage. I do get it changed a lot more than my significant other, which apparently was never. He’d never have his done if I didn’t bring it in for him. He grew up a little rich kid where they just got new cars all the time so he doesn’t understand things like this.

Right now, I get my oil changes for free, so I do it regularly. when that changes, it will be up to my Hubby.

I try to get my oil changed every 3000 miles, but I usually don’t do it every 3 months. The dealer I take it to is in another town so it is usually a matter of scheduling that keeps me from getting there.
i don’t drive very often, so I usually get my oil changed once or twice a year. it’s not really necessary to get it done every 3 months if you’re not logging a lot of miles.

I don’t drive so my husband is in charge of all the car and driving stuff. He gets an oil change when the sticker he has from the last oil change says it’s time. He always gets the oil changed on time as long as we can pay for it at the time.
