Hannah collapses on stage the night of her theatrical debut in college. Countless medical tests later everything points to the underlying factor which was her difficult birth. This not a huge revelation when compared to the one that she was actually adopted … after a failed abortion attempt. Hannah turns for support to Jason and joins his group of friends on a Spring Break road trip, embarking on a journey to discover her hidden past and find hope for her unknown future. What she finds in the midst of her incredible journey is that life can be so much more than what you have planned.
October Baby was very emotional for me to watch and my heart went out to Hannah. Imagine finding out that you are result of a failed abortion attempt. Hannah was so devastated and now suddenly understood why she always felt like she was unwanted. As Hannah begins her road trip there are moments when she seems a bit immature for a college student but then there are moments when Jason really steps up as a friend. This is really a gut wrenching movie but it is also really good.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

This sounds like a good movie that could lead to great talking points and open dialogue with teenagers.

I never heard of this movie until I read your review. Sounds like a very thought provoking movie for teenagers. In society today many crimes and esteem issues seem to point to the first few years of life. I have seen on TV recently stories of how some young people feel when they find out they are adopted and how it devastates them. I wish they could see the other side of how they were ‘chosen’ and how their life would have turned out if their parents wouldn’t have given them up.
I will need to see if this movie has a happy ending.

I’ve seen many reviews on this movie, and it looks to be a powerfully moving, emotionally gripping film. Looks to emphasized the importance of all life. I will have definitely need to watch this!

I have seen some reviews for this but not actually what it was about. I have yet to understand how someone could feel ‘unwanted’ if they have good adoptive parents and are in a loving home . I might have to watch this one thank you.

I have never heard of this and it’s not my usual type of movie but sometimes I’m in the mood for a touching story that also makes you think hard about life. I like the sound of the characters and I will plan on watching this in the future. Thank you!

This movie sounds like one you want to watch when you are home having a lazy day. If it is a “tear jerker” it will be one I want to watch without the husband or kids. I have seen this movie but didn’t really know what it was about until I read the review. thanks for the review.

Wow. This touches my heart so much. My best friend’s mother couldn’t afford an abortion so she drank as much as possible and did drugs. I’m thankful that she wasn’t able to self abort the baby but my best friend has a ton of medical problems because of the abuse in the womb. I’d never heard of this movie but now I must watch it. I fear that I will bawl my eyes out though.
