My Dog is Great is Yours?

Aug 06, 2012 | Rita

Recently I shared with you a story about my dog Sassy and her “mud bath” adventure. Well Sassy has been up to her same old tricks lately when she recently decided she have hamburgers with the family. We don’t feed Sassy from the table but every once in a while she just has to have some. When I cook I make just enough and try not to have too many leftovers, that means when we cook burgers it is one each. After setting the table the other night I came back for the burgers only to discover that we were one short. Looking around I thought I had not made enough right up until I noticed that the mayo jar wasn’t on the counter either. That was a dead giveaway, Sassy loves mayo (don’t know why!) When I opened her little hideout under the sink she simply smiled, I swear she did, and then walked out. A few crumbs and the mayo jar in the garage later I told Sassy just how wrong what she did was. Of course like my other children I don’t think she actually listened to me. Does your dog ever do crazy things?

I have no idea if the dogs, or kids listen to me–they just seem to all what ever they please around here– but I can tell that if they sense that I’m not feeling well they are all right there trying to take care of me– the dogs not the kids..

My dogs are so funny, especially my Yorkie I was given from my family for my 50th Birthday. He and my other dog are always by my side, whenever I am relaxing, when I am having a really bad “health” day, and when I need a great laugh because the little goofs are just nuts when they play. One is over 10 and one is 2, and I credit my little one for bringing our older dog Libby out of her funk.

I don’t know what i would do without them, because although they don’t always listen, they DO listen better than teenagers! ( even Armani who is now a teen in dog years…Liberty (Libby) is of course over 70 in dog years. They don’t do anything outstanding like spin plates in a variety show, or save a child in a fire, but they love me unconditionally, have added so much to our children’s lives, and they truly saved ME when my health was so poor I didn’t think I would make it through. Pets are amazing. I just love that picture of your Sassy…it really does look like she was smiling! Adorable…but sneaky;) I truly laughed out loud when I scrolled down to read….and now I am in the doghouse cuz I woke the baby. der…

Such a cute little dog! Our dog loves to sit at our feet while we’re eating, waiting for some food to be thrown his way. We should have did a better job with him earlier on and made him lay down in another room. It’s more difficult to get him to listen now that he’s older.

I once left some pasta on the counter overnight, only to wake up the next morning to find the pan licked clean. Guess he decided to get up on two legs and help himself to leftovers =)
