Here we are on day 11 of the 25 Days of Me and this one I’ve share before but thought I would tell those who don’t know me or are new around here. We all have a bible verse that we just love. There may be a reason behind it or maybe it just struck a chord with you the first time you heard it. I have one as well and I will share it with you in a moment. First I want to share why it is my favorite.
I have eidetic memory when it comes to things I read. I can tell you word for word the very first book I ever read on my own. However for some reason it doesn’t work with the bible. I have no idea why it doesn’t seem to work for the bible. It certainly would help me if it did. Maybe it is the way it is written.
Anyway, when I was younger we had to memorize a different bible verse each week and each week I failed at it. Again I don’t know why but for an OCD overachiever like me it was like being told you were one second away from the Noble Peace Prize and you didn’t get it. I would go home in tears each Sunday.
Then we came to Acts and I struggled like always at first. The week we had to learn Acts 2:38 something inside me just clicked. I didn’t have to look at that verse but once and I haven’t forgotten it to this day.
It is the only bible verse that I know by heart. I still have lots of trouble memorizing verses but now days I don’t bother doing it too much. In fact, I don’t make my class do that either. Instead I have them each month tell me what their favorite verse was. It doesn’t matter if they don’t get it perfect, as long as they get the idea of it.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
