You will remember that I reviewed tortilla warmers not too long ago. Well you must have something to into your warmers. Before I got a press I used two plates but somehow was never considered to be doing it right by my in-laws standards. Pressing your tortillas into the correct form is very important for the proper tortilla and the best way to do it is to have a tortilla press.
There are all sorts of presses and you have decide which one is perfect for you. The most simple press is a plastic one that is very light and won’t break your toes if you drop it. I use a cast iron one which I love because it has all sorts of purposes (including throwing it at my husband when he says my tortillas aren’t like his mother’s.) You do have to put something between your tortilla and the press itself but I would do that regardless of what type I had.
My dream press is the top of the line Mesquite Tortilla Press which is a little more than $30 and one that I want so badly. I may let Santa give me it for Christmas. It is simply beautiful and would look so good in my kitchen. I haven’t ever seen this one in use and would love for anyone who has used one to leave their feedback on it.
Now you know where to buy a great press let me show you how to use it…..
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

You make your own tortillas : o ?

I do. When I married my husband I learned that a good wife doesn’t buy her husband’s tortillas. Of course I didn’t become that “good” wife for a number of years out of spite.
