Holiday Gift Guide: My Own Fairy

Dec 20, 2017 | Rita

I am all about fairies, have I told y’all that before? I can’t remember but there is something about fairies that I love. That is why I was so super excited about working with My Own Fairy. Have you heard of a fairy door? No, well let me tell you that they are the creators of a fairy door. Just what is a fairy door?

A fairy door is pretty much what it sounds like. A door for your fairy to come and go as they please. I confess that I love this idea because a favorite author of mine write a series where brownies appear in happy homes and help keep it clean. Every time I read about one in the books I get so tickled. I need a cleaning fairy!!

My Own Fairy provides you with the door as well as information via the Fairy Zone for you. All you have to do is find the perfect spot for your door and hope that a fairy moves in. Only a fairy can open the door. There are answers to frequently asked questions like “Where do fairies live?” and more. You can also join the club using the code that is in your box.

We received the Yellow Bumblebee Design Door for our house. There has been a lot of debate on where to put the door. Ma chose the color because she loves yellow (not to mention bees) and Maggie agreed with her. Once we received our door I took a look at what all came in the kit.
In addition to the door we received a magical key and a small vial of “fairy dust” (glitter)

We have this beautiful old tree in our backyard right outside the door. It is the one that you all see in many of my pictures and Maggie thought it would be perfect for the fairy. So we put everything out and Maggie waited to see if the fairy would move in, so to speak. Let me tell you that the fairy had the hardest time in the middle of the night in the freezing cold using the key and fairy dust if you know what I mean. Santa is easier to deal with since the kids know they have to be asleep for him to come.

The next morning all that was left was fairy dust. Our fairy took her key (cause the door is outside) and now uses it to come and go as she pleases. Maggie has loved having something that is all her own and while it has been a bit trying coming up with things for the fairy to do it has been worth it. We leave food out a lot for the fairy (and the fairy helper doesn’t have to go outside and remove since the animals take care of that) and Maggie loves knowing that she is feeding her fairy. I just need to have a discussion with the fairy about maybe taking over the laundry duties for all the food we feed her. Now it is a little late this season but next year if you are looking for an Elf door then they can certainly hook you up with  that as well as some great information in their Elf Zone.

Fairy gardens are so popular right now and I think they are so magical for kids. I love this cute door and think this kit would be so fun for any kid.

The fairy door is so cute, she loves talking about different fairies so this would be for her.
