“National Clean Out Your Garage Day” is an observance dedicated to educating Americans about garage safety. This year, Ace Hardware and Quickie are joining The Lehigh Group, manufacturer of Crawford branded garage organization products, making the 2012 program the largest campaign to date. It was celebrated on September 8th this year but if your like me you are already doing a million things so why not celebrate the day today?
I don’t have a garage but I have a back porch with a laundry room that has begun to look more like a garage and is in desperate need of some serious cleaning. So after bribing the kids with money, candy, and finally having to pull out the “mom voice” I got them to help me some. While there is now a huge pile of things that need to be taken off to the dump everything is finally looking a little better.

Love this. It looks so nice once is it nice and clean. Keeping it that way is tough. I guess the best thing to do is if you use it put it back.

You have NO idea! We had a daughter have a lil’ one last October and she added a LOT of extras to our garage. Couple that with hubby’s hobbies, and some furniture still waiting for donations, PLUS an area of unsold garage sale items from last year…we are in need of a good clean out. We have sawhorses with trim laying out ready to be stained from last fall and so many things not moved to clean around…too many things laying out and not organized and such old cleaning supplies. Lord knows I am so embarrassed that I freak out if the kids leave the garage door open any longer than to get their bikes or sports equip out:o

My dad has recently gotten a bunch of stuff for his racing so it has gotten really crowded and really dirty in there so it really needs cleaned
not only do i have my stuff but mysisters husbands and her stuff its so packed it hazardous we are scared to even go in it cant find anything,i need help really bad !
most of our stuff just sits in the middle of the garage rather than on a shelf or etc. It’s not a mess just unorganized!

The garage is the ultimate dumping ground! It would be great to get stuff off the floors and use the wall space.
I have to organize my garage soon because bad weather will be here soon, i have to make room for my car

OHHH what a mess the garage is. Every time I seem to make a dent in it, Hubster finds more ‘important’ (to him) crap. Sometimes it is very frustrating!
We live in an old house, and the garage is tiny… so we don’t use it for the cars. We just use it for storage, and it always gets into a terrible disaster during the summer because nobody wants to be out there for long.. so we just throw stuff in and it gets all jumbled.
We have to clean it out EVERY fall. 🙂
