Our fridge doesn’t have an ice maker at all. I am not kidding! In fact it only has one shelf ( yes we need a new one.) So when New Air asked if I wanted review their portable ice maker saying yes was not a hard decision. After all we have spent far too long having to run to the store to buy ice. We used to use ice trays but they have mysteriously disappeared.
When the NewAir AI-215R portable ice maker arrived I was surprised at the size of the box. I was thinking it would be the size of a coffee pot but it actually is about the size of our microwave and a whole lot heavier. After some heaving and hoing I got it where I wanted it (why are men never home when you need them?)
The instructions were very simple and easy, thank you New Air for that, and I got to making ice quickly. I am able to select the ice cube that I want although I should say my mother would love if you did one with crushed ice! My ma could not be happier! She no longer has to ask me fifty times to remember to pick up ice. I love it because now when we have out Saturday get together a I always have ice on hand and ready.

This is a pretty color for a Ice maker, and i like that it makes a lot of ice and I can have it available right away. What a really nice ice maker to own. Would love to get one!
I agree about the crushed ice being a desirable option. When I make frozen drinks, the blender doesn’t always do the job on all the ice cubes. That being said, I think this is a great thing – my refrigerator doesn’t have an ice maker either.
This is so cool. I didn’t even know something like this existed. I will have to tell my sister about this. Her fridge doesn’t have an ice maker either. So cool! Ha ha
What a novice idea! We finally have an icemaker in our fridge for the first time in 15 years. But what i like about this far beyond a fridge model is the portability. How great for a grad party or even a family wedding for this spring. For those lucky enough to have a pool, what a great product to have poolside. AWESOME! and love the red!
I had no idea that there even was such a thing! It would be great for so many different applications! You could even use just during the summer and put it away during the winter if that suited someone’s needs. Or for a party! PS: Wait for the guys next time, you only have one back!
Count me among the people who never knew such a thing existed. This would be really handy for entertaining. I never remember to buy ice and we always run out!
