No Work Spanish Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

Learning Spanish is not easy let me tell you. I have been working on it for six years and I still only know the basics. Well if you don’t count the dirty words, but when you are married to a Mexican man you learn those words quickly. I mean honestly every argument early on in our marriage would cause him to forget English all together.

When I go the chance to review No Work Spanish I was very interested in it. The idea is you simply listen to audio books and pick up the language. I was lucky enough to receive two books. Yaks March On Washington is based on a true story and a very interesting book. We listen to the book in the car little by little as a way to fill the time. Not to mention my kids could help me a little. I love the format in that you get both English and Spanish. I found that i could repeat what I had heard with no trouble. I listened to it several times and by the third or fourth time hearing the book I could tell you the Spanish before it was said. This system really works!

“I jump into the pen and look around. Salto dentro del corral y echo un vistazo. They’ve taken most of the room. Han tomado la mayoría del espacio. I lie in my corner and stare at the yak to make him move away. Me acuesto en mi esquina y miro al yak fijamente para hacer que se mueva. He stares right back. El fija la mirada de vuelta. We stare, nose to nose, hour after hour. Nos miramos fijamente, nariz a nariz, hora tras hora. Finally, I doze off, hot yak breath in my face. Finalmente, dormito, con el aliento caliente de yak en mi cara.”

Poster Girl was the second book I received and it was just as interesting. I loved being able to  listen to a story and know what is being said. by the time I got to Poster Girl I was much more comfortable with the Spanish and was able to fly right through it. I can now listen to people talking in Spanish and even though I still don’t know every single word I am much more comfortable with it.

{PROS} IT WORKS!!! I am proof that it works. I can now carry on a conversation with my mother in-law with little help. They are available on iTunes as well!!
