We home-school which means I am responsible for making all of the lesson plans and teaching them all as well. It can be a daunting task at times and there have been times when I questioned whether nor not to continue. Recently I was sent information on the Ocean Exploration Discovery Box from Revelae Kids and I knew right away that this would be something we could use in class and have a ton of fun with it.
The Ocean Exploration Discovery Box was one that the kids loved so much. There are so many different things for the twins to see and learn and they get to do it by actually touching. It is something that as a homeschool teacher I always strive for when ever I am giving a lesson.
One of the most amazing things though is the “sea” that they got to watch come to life, so to speak. It is these little balls they would put into water. Now I put it into a bowl because I was nervous about it being spilled out of the container that the kit came in. Once you add the water to the balls you wait until the get large enough.
Once they are large enough you can add in all the other pieces and your children can explore the ocean. Those little balls feel wet and slimy is one way to describe them. Not slimy gross though but like something you would want to run your hands through. There is more than enough little things that the kids can “discover” and learn more about. We used it as a lesson to learn about fish and other ocean life.
[Tweet “Help your child learn through sensory play with Discovery Boxes”]
Revelae Kids have many other Discovery Boxes that your children would enjoy. I’m talking everything from the rain forest to bugs and so much in between. For me some of them will work well for lessons while the others will simply be for sensory play. All of the boxes are designed for ages 3 and up. There are small pieces that younger may put into their mouths and be dangerous.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

This looks like a lot of fun. I have been trying to come up with things to keep the kiddos busy this summer.

This would certainly work. They can spend hours playing by themselves or you could play with them.

What a great idea! I think kids learn better from using more of their senses instead of just reading from a book.
Rita says
I agree! When they have it in their hands and can look at it they learn much more from it.

That’s a cute learning idea! I think that hands on learning can be super helpful for many kids!
Rita says
It is very helpful. My kids are hands on learners where I was a book learner, although hands on always helped.

It is a ton of fun. Those little beads, I had as big a blast with them as the kids did.
