Do you ever look back on your life and think “I am so glad I met this person or that person?” I do from time to time. The one person I am so glad I met is my husband. I know most women are glad they met their spouses but for me he is so much more than just my husband. He is the one person in this world who knows and understands me better than anyone else and I don’t ever have to tell him anything, he just seems to know.
I was one of those girls who didn’t really go out much, spent most of their time reading, working, and staying home helping around the house. You know the old maid type. I had a very small handful of boyfriends over the years and honestly had come to terms with the fact that I would marry or find anyone special. After my dad died I spent even more time in the house helping out my mom. Six years after his death we moved and a year later I met my husband.
He was the quiet one of his friends at first but later once he began to talk to me I was sunk forever. Now looking back I am so thrilled that I met him, fell in love, and that he chose me.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

We met at my uncle’s house. He lived across the street from my uncle. I actually met his friend first because my uncle’s girlfriend wanted to set his friend and I up but I happen to see my husband as he was leaving to go visit his then girlfriend. He broke up with her that night and we met a few weeks later. I was never interested in his friend. It was love at first sight!

That is such a special story. I can see God’s work in there, preparing you for the gift that is your husband, and he for you. God Bless.

Thank you Sandra! It is so funny because I had even forgotten that I wrote this post and with everything that is going on in my marriage I have forgotten how much he means to me.
