Pearls and Poison by Duffy Brown

Feb 19, 2014 | Rita

When I received Pearls and Poison in the mail it made my day! Rarely do books or series captivate me the way this particular one has. Duffy Brown is the most refreshing author I have had the pleasure of not only reading but getting to know online. Her characters are like the relatives that I talk about from time to time. As a Georgia girl myself I can relate to many of the characters and know how living in a town like Savannah is.

I must say that Pearls and Poison is Duffy Brown’s best work yet! I have been waiting three books for that kiss and the dance scene was more than worth the wait. Reagan is the heroine that every woman deep down wants to be while Walker Boone is the hero we all want to walk into our lives. I love that the murder suspect this time was Reagan’s well to do judge mother and that Boone’s softer side showed a bit more. If you have not read any of this series than I must tell you that you don’t know what you are missing. It is so good that I ended up sitting on the “throne” for almost an hour ( a mom has to hide sometimes) because I just couldn’t get up until I finished the book.

Holy cow, Rita. This is one of the best reviews I’ve ever had. Sitting on the “pot” for that long is such a hoot…and something I’ve do read when I had kids. (Just a few moments alone please.)
That you enjoyed Pearls and Poison really makes my day! Thanks so much for this wonderful review. I truly appreciate it. Hugs, Duffy

Well I have read and enjoyed all Duffy’s books but when you tell me it’s the best one yet it makes me terribly itchy to get to it! I’ve pre-ordered it and can’t wait for it to arrive. I have to agree with you she is refreshing and I also feel like I know the characters and I’m not fortunate enough to be Southern. Kudos Duffy and I can’t wait till it’s released!

Thanks Susan and Rita. You are both so sweet. Always fun to see what Reagan and Boone and the gang are up to. They surprise the heck out of me. 🙂

Oh this book sounds so good! I personally love series type books. I love getting to know the characters and feeling like your part of the family. The story background sounds like one I would really enjoy. I love a mystery with a great heroine and hero mixed in. I will have to pick up all 3 books. I love the sitting on the thrown part. I have been known to hide in the bathroom a time or two myself.

Hi, Tammy Me too on the hiding in the bathroom part esp when I had kids just to finish up a chapter…or a book. 🙂 I love writing series and getting to know the setting and characters. Thanks for picking up the Consignment Shop series. I really appreciate it. Have a good weekend and Think Spring. Hugs, Duffy

LOL Hiding in the bathroom. I need to do this more often LOL. I finished reading the Bible a few weeks ago in a little over a year. I haven’t read much outside of the Bible but this sounds like a page turner.
