You all know that I have been redecorating my bedroom a little at a time over the last month or so I have new bedding among other things. The one thing that I needed was a way to bring it all together. I had selected a color scheme of deep purple and gray but how in the world did I make that work with paneled walls. That’s where Photowall came in, he sent me the perfect floral peel and stick wallpaper to pull everything together nicely.
Photowall is a Swedish company that has a passion for design and quality. Their wall murals (which is what my wallpaper was) and canvas prints are environmentally friendly and fire-retardant in accordance with Swedish standards. I don’t know how that translate to US standards but I can tell you that the wall mural I received is beautiful. They do not fade in sunlight and all motifs are selected with care.

I received the Scent of Roses Plum and knew right away how I wanted to do things. I decided that I would cover just the wall behind my bed. That way I didn’t over power the room and could still have a nice pop of color. It would light the room a bit and pull things together. I had to measure the wall and give the dimensions that I needed for the paper. I will admit that this was a bit daunting to me. In fact I was thinking the paper would run one way when in fact it ran the other when I got it. No worries though.
Each section of paper is easily recognizable since Photowall puts this nice big number (in that block on the right you can’t see) on there for you. It helped me since this was my first time ever hanging wallpaper. Luckily Ma had done it before or there is no telling what would of happened. She was able to tell me what to do.
I laid the paper out on the floor in my living room first so I could see how it went together and the way I wanted it to go. I then just wrote a number on the back of each piece so I knew the order it went in.
One all of the paper was hung I ended up with a nice flower pattern on the wall that looks beautiful if I do say so myself. Photowall made sure that I had all the glue that I needed to hang the paper and there were instructions for using it. Although that line was there when I hung it and took the picture it has since worked its way together. Mostly with me pushing on it. That is a result of me not doing the best job in the world and not the paper. Hey it was my first time hanging wallpaper! My original plan had been to just do the wall behind the bed but as you can see I ended up doing that wall and the one side next to the window. It worked and worked well, that’s all I can say about it. There was a couple of pieces left and I am going to frame those then put them in my bathroom so it will blend well with the bedroom.

That is so gorgeous! I can see how for some rooms a photo wall might be too much, but this one is perfect!

Beautiful! I’m looking for ideas to redo my daughter’s bedroom. I’ll check this company’s products and shipping prices.

Wow, that’s really neat. I’d love to do one with a nature scene. I haven’t seen one like this, just the decals. Not sure if they are hard to apply or not though.
