How many of you remember picture day back when you were in school? It was that day (twice a year) where you remembered to dress nicely so you could get your pictures done. My parents only ever bought one set of pictures each year. Since there was four of us they bought the two older kids pictures in the fall and the younger two in the spring.
It was the only way to ensure that everyone got pictures bought for the school year. Those dang pictures are so expensive that I only buy one set as well. I used to love picture day. I twas the day I got a new outfit and spent extra time getting myself ready. All for pictures to happen right after gym and I ended up looking like a dying poodle. At least in high school one year.

God, I just hated picture taking day!! I have two memories: First, my Mom literally dragged me to get my hair cut (boy style short!!) because she was fed up with my baby fine, prone to being tangly hair, and I remember she used to use Johnson’s ‘No Tangle’s stuff, which didn’t work all that great on my hair. Next day, I’m drinking out of the school’s hallway fountain, and some kid actually said to me, ‘Are you a boy, or a girl??!’. That was just humiliating, and I hated my new boy cut!! (I have never had my hair that short ever since).
My 2nd memory is of really stressing over how my grade 12 graduation picture would turn out, and I remember praying to god even about it, because I really wanted it to look nice! It thankfully turned out fine, but I’ve never considered myself to take very good pictures. Only my ‘selfie’ ones where I’m in control turn out good.
