When you are starting your business, whether in Hackensack, New Jersey or anywhere else, you typically sit down and think of all of the things that you need. Sometimes you add in the things that you want. I know that is something that I did. I made a list of what I needed and a second list of things I wanted. I also made a wish list of things I would get later down the road such as the nine hundred dollar camera. There could be things you need though and don’t even realize it. Lets talk about a couple of those.
Every business today is going to need IT help. Even if you think that you won’t you will need something like zycom it services sooner rather than later. When I first started I thought I could handle it all on my own. Then my computer and website went down and I found out super quick like that I didn’t have the skills to handle all of that. I now pay for that sort of service and keep them on retainer. I never want to have to experience that again. There are still moments when things happen but I know that my technical is on it and can handle anything that I cannot.
Another thing that I have found that I need all the time are multiple tablets, laptops, etc. Now I may the only business person in the world who does that but there are are times when I need to look at multiple things at once. I can just imagine the amount of work that I can get done if an email is right there were I can see it without having to change screens.
Another possible need is a business telephone. Don’t use your home phone or cell phone unless you are in a business where that is okay. Why? Because when you answer you are going to be casual. If at all possible have a business landline whether you are at home or in an actual office. It will make you sound and appear much more professional.
Of course having a space that is uniquely yours helps too. Even if you are in a regular work building (and not at home) or you have to seek out shelter services in Mexico make your office space your own. Having things set up the way you like, along with little personal touches will help make you more productive. You won’t dread going into work everyday. I once worked for a company that wouldn’t let you have anything personal in your cubicle or on your desk. I hated every second. I remember that I could wait until the day I could find something better. I made good money but the money wasn’t worth the stress I had. Just being in that dreary place made me physically ill everyday.
At home my “office” area is all me! I have some updates to the area that I promise I will share with y’all at a later date. I couldn’t imagine if I had to work in a bland area. If only I had those smart glasses now I would be all set!
