Every child dreams of being a superhero! Some adults do too, with Power Capes you can be just that! I was lucky enough to be able to review one of Power Capes custom capes and was very thrilled with the product.
My decision to review Power Capes was an easy one. The offer came right after Reese told me he wanted to be a super hero as opposed to his previous decision of wanting the be an astrosnot, he’s three! Power Capes allowed me to custom design one of their Sidekick Size Custom Capes, which perfect for ages 2-7 as its 22″. I got to choose the color of the cape, the lettering, the symbol, everything! It was very simple and I was able to see my design the entire time. Because I have OCD I decided to change things about a dozen times, but go back was as simple as clicking the correct box and changing whatever I wanted.
Reese loves his cape and it’s hard to keep him still when he’s got it own. In fact he said no pictures! When we asked why he answer was “You can’t take pictures of super heroes, the bad guys will know who they are and where the live. Everybody knows that!” So that is Grandma modeling the cape in the picture above. The capes come in three sizes: Sidekick, Hero (30″ perfect for ages 6- 10+) and Superhero (48″ and is the adult size) Now if you are getting an adult cape and are short like me I wouldn’t recommend the adult size. If you don’t want a custom cape Power Capes have ready-made capes that you can choose from.
Power Capes also carries complete Custom Superhero Costumes. So once you design your cape you can add a t-shirts, cuffs, and a mask and your little hero is good to go. He/she can start fighting crime right away. All of the capes are handmade! They use a thick satin material just like a real superhero might. There is nothing cheap about them. The emblems and initials are stitched onto the caps, t-shirts and blaster cuffs to ensure they will not come off during washing or play. I wash Reese’s in the machine on delicate and it came out clean with no trouble.
Power Capes also has a few fundraising options for you. They have a donate a cape program and a school spirit program, either of which would be a great way to give back and help out. They also giveaway free superhero stuff EVERY month.
{PROS} Website is very easy to browse and use, ordering is a breeze.
{CONS} Having to make decisions! When you have OCD having to make a choice is hard.
