That is what I heard recently! We were watching a movie and as I always do I pulled out my phone to check my emails. My children just looked at me and finally Daniel said “put the phone down mom! You never watch the movie! You are always on your phone!”
That is when I realized he was right. Whether it is a movie or dinner or something I always pull out my phone. Now more than ever because I need the support of my friends more than ever. However I am sure that I am not alone in this. We are all so connected nowadays that we just dot know when it is too much.
I don’t want life to pass by only to realize I missed the best parts because I was on my phone or even too busy taking pictures. I want to have the memories of actually doing all of those things. Some of my best memories from my childhood don’t have a single photograph to show they happened.
All there is of them are the memories I have but I wouldn’t trade the for anything in the world. So no more will I be checking my phone or email or pulling out the camera for every little thing. When they grow up I want them to have the same wonderful memories I have regardless of whether there is a photograph or not.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I know exactly what you mean. Because we are all so wrapped up in our cell phone, computers and whatever gadget we can get our hands on. Our family has created several electronic free zones. They are at the dinner table, family dinners and when we have guest over. It has been great. I am a firm believer that you need to enjoy the small moments because when you look back t’s the small day to day moments that are actually the big moments.

You are right! Since I work from home I have this constant need to check on things all the time.

I just got an iPhone last Christmas for the first time I can really so how easy it is to get sucked in. I try not to always be on it and I think I do okay. There is always room for improvement though.

Oh yeah! You can get sucked into it all in a matter of seconds!
