Ready for the New Year

Dec 30, 2014 | Rita

I am so ready for the new year! This year has been one that I would gladly pretend didn’t happen at all. I have big plans both professionally and personally for next year and while I will share them all with you later I am excited about them. It’s funny how everyone I talk to is ready for the new year as well. 2014 must have been a rough year for everyone. I actually have plans for tonight as well to ring in the new year at a grown-up party! My first in more than eight years!!

Can you believe it? I am going out with some friends and just going to enjoy myself knowing that the kids are perfectly fine at home with my mother and not worry about anything. That sounds so much easier than it really is? I have the funniest urge to leave my phone at home but won’t because I know that I will be calling home a million times to check on them. When you are married with kids New Year’s changes and then when you find yourself single again you look at it with all new possibilities. Although this will be the first year that I haven’t had anyone to kiss at midnight.

Normally that would scare me to death but I have a new outlook on it all. I see the possibilities for what they are and maybe tonight will be the beginning of the best year of my life. Anything can happen and I am not going to worry if I can manage it at all!

What are all of you doing tonight?

I hope 2015 is the best year ever for you. 2014 was a tough one, but you have taken all the lemons and made lemonade. It’s amazing how much stronger you have become. I love that you are going after what You want!
