Revenge of the Mad Scientist: Book One: Airship Adventure Chronicles

Sep 27, 2012 | Rita

Revenge of the Mad Scientist

About the Book:

A steampunk adventure with a touch of romance. When Lady Arabella Trunkett’s father, the Lord High Minister of Urbannia, is kidnapped, suspicion points to the mysterious country of Gandiss and the world is thrown into political upheaval. But Arabella is convinced the more sinister nation of Carabarras is to blame, urged on by a mad scientist seeking revenge. She sets out on a dangerous airship adventure across numerous exotic locales to rescue her father before war breaks out. Not only is she faced with danger from mysterious assassins, slaver traders and air-pirates, the fickle hand of fate adds an additional complication to her trials. Unfortunately, the captain of the only airship available for charter is a man who left her at the altar. For eight years she’s wanted nothing more than to see him dead. But now he’s her only hope.

My Thoughts:

This is my second steampunk book ever and this was by far my favorite. Lara Nance has done a wonderful job blending mystery and romance together. I cannot wait for the next book to come out which is rare for me. There are strange worlds and much more.Jules Verne has nothing on Lara Nance

After reading Fifty Shades of Grey I have been trying to find reviews on books that I might like, I love this review and I think I’ve found my new book to read.

Steampunk! I’d love to read this. My Hubz, a cabinet maker, has begin to incorporate some of the Steampunk influence into his style. I love it and think an adventure novel would be great fun.

I love the steampunk style, it’s so fun and awesome. I don’t really understand the story lines that go behind steampunk, but i love the costumes. But to be honest this was a pretty broad review of a book.

I read a lot and have never understood the steampunk style ….although that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. To me it is just a quirky writing style somewhat like the writers from years ago like you mentioned Verne .
It sounds like an interesting book and one that would be an enjoyable read.

This sounds interesting. I haven’t read a steampunk book yet.
