When I became a Gabby Mom I was hoping there would be item(s) for me that really spoke to me. So when I opened Lorrie Flem’s newsletter from Eternal Encouragement the title, Serenity for Your Soul, caught my attention.
Lorrie’s newsletter starts off with a personal note sharing a little about what is going on in her life. She shares with her readers her new diet which is to switch from her normal body wash to Dawn dish soap because the label reads, “Dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove.” I found myself laughing out loud and then realizing, what a wonderful way for your readers to get to know the real you!
She moves on to saying how God whispers to us, but if we don’t take the time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. As funny as that sounds I must say that there have been a few bricks thrown my way and I am sure there are times when God feels a cinder block might be a better choice.
Lorrie’s topics speak to my current circumstances, which I fund refreshing.I have been feeling like such a failure as a homemaker, especially when I compare myself to my mother. She seemed to be able to do it all and I do good if I can tackle a fourth of the things she did daily. Lorrie shares her struggles and even refers to herself as “The Horrid Homemaker or Psycho Suzy.” She then shares a verse that I really liked, “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 Thank you, Lorrie, for that reminder! I needed to hear that so that I can remember to let things go that don’t matter and be the best wife, mother, teacher, sister, friend, writer, and person I can be.
Do you feel overwhelmed in God’s calling for you? Do you need that extra encouragement? Why not head on over to Lorrie’s website, Eternal Encouragement, and sign up for your FREE newsletter! You don’t have to be a Gabby Mom, you just have to visit her site and fill in the pop-up window with your email. You’ll receive an email with a link to Lorrie’s popular E-Book, Organizing Happiness after signing up for the newsletter.
I am reviewing Serenity for Your Soul as part of The Gabby Moms program and did not receive compensation for this post.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Haha this sounds great some wise words with a kick of humor just what I need, I feel like sometimes god had thrown a semi at me….lol….it’s soo poisonous to compare yourself as a mother to anyone else I’ve learned to let things go, people handle things differently in their own circumstances.

Nice review. The Dawn statement is just too good. I will be remembering that myself.
