If you have small children you more than likely already know the power of milk. Milk is a staple at our house and my nephew Reese cannot start his day without so with him on his way I wanted to be sure I plenty. The only downside to milk is that when you are out Christmas shopping, running errands, extra you have no way of keeping milk cold which having to stop and buy a pint at a crazy price.
That is why I love shelf safe milk! I was first introduce to shelf safe when I was younger actually. It was being given to the troops that were stationed at the base my dad was at and so it was there in the shop. The funny thing is that most of the grown men there would not touch it but us kids loved it. We loved that it didn’t have to be cold and the expiration date was crazy to us. Later on when I began doing the grocery shopping for my own home I made to seek out shelf safe milk.
Anytime we are traveling it is the milk of choice for those road trips. I hate giving any of the kids sodas (yes I know I drink them all the time) when we stop and get fast food. Somehow to me it just seems like I am poising them even more so I give them, which of course they all HATE, but I feel better about it. Shelf safe milk means I have the flavor that each one wants right on hand and never have to worry about a place where there is only one chocolate milk left. There would simply be rioting in the car. since shelf safe milk comes in a box sort of like those juice boxes you don’t have to worry about a glass. If your child uses a sippy simply pour it into there.
Shelf safe milk has a variety for any sort of milk drinker in your home. While we are partial to the chocolate there is white and other flavors. since it doesn’t have to be kept cold you don’t have to worry about making your children sick when you give it to them. The expiration date on it is long so you can toss a couple into the diaper bag and no worry if it is several weeks before they are actually used.
Are you a fan of shelf safe milk? If you have not tried it how would shelf safe make your life easier?

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

For travelling, yes. But I do prefer refrigerated almond or soy milk. They can be stocked up on and last much longer than dairy milk in the fridge.

We live a long way from the nearest grocery store, so shelf stable milk is great for those weeks when we run out before our next shopping trip!

I only recently learned about shelf stable milk and am LOVING it! We don’t drink milk (unless the grands are here) but I buy milk most weeks for cooking and such. I often throw away part of that. I have tried to use canned or powdered milk to avoid waste, but it is just not the same. Now, I can keep milk on hand all the time without worry. I still buy regular milk in smaller quantities, but I just know that I already have milk to use–or for unexpected grandkids.

I’ve never heard of this kind of milk but I definitely want to try. Going grocery shopping tomorrow to see if I can find it in my area! Maybe I can add it to my smoothies 🙂

I haven’t tried this yet. I keep hearing about it, but I just can’t wrap my head around the thought of shelf stable milk. I will have to look for it at the store.

I haven’t heard of this before. Sounds too good to be true. I think any food product that has extended shelf life has more preservatives in it.

It’s the first time I heard of shelf safe milk. This is good for everybody especially those living in rural areas who have no access to refrigerators. It can stay on the shelf for as long as 6 months. I like this article,I myself still drinks milk as usually as I can. Many thanks.
