Many of you remember the story of Rahab in the bible. She is found in Joshua 2 and she helped Joshua and his people in Jericho. She put a red cord in her window to let the Jews know that it was her house and they would protect her and her family. She had to put all of her faith and trust in two spies that Joshua sent, not knowing if Joshua would honor the deal they had made with her. She didn’t know about God or his word but she put her faith in him and her and her family were spared. In fact they were adopted by the Jews after the battle of Jericho and stayed with them.
The one thing I have always gotten form this particular story is how all we need is a single strand of faith. Of course that strand could be frayed and barely hanging on but that little strand is all that we need. When things have gotten tough I kept telling myself over and over “A Single Strand” Sometimes it worked because it reminded me that my faith was in place and things would get better. Sometimes it made me feel worst but either way it became my mantra.
One that I continue to use on a daily basis and while it gets me through I think that deep down there is something more about it. Something that I can’t explain but a need to know that even the smallest amount of faith
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

What a great way to relate the story of Rahab to your own life. I’m sure most of us have been at the point of holding on by a skinny thread, I know I have been. I can thank God that the thread of faith in my life has never disappeared.

From the very first moment I read that story it is how I have understood it. It just spoke to me somehow.

I like how you tell yourself “A Single Strand” to keep you going. I am a firm believer that everything will eventually workout as long as you have Hope. Without hope we have so little in our life’s. I tell myself all the time that you just need to keep the Hope Alive. It always seems to help me regardless of the situation.

You are right, without hope we are lost. I know that if I didn’t tell myself A Single Strand I would never have made it through some days.

Thank you so much. sometimes I wonder if my interpretations make any sense to anyone but me. I am glad that you enjoy them and pray that whatever you are going through is quickly resolved.

When you need to have faith sometimes just a little can be enough to make a single strand turn into a much bigger one. It just take a little to go along way. These posts are so inspiring to read daily.

I am glad that you like them. My little strand is all there is at the moment but I am clinging onto it as my life line.
