Going through life, many people wind up making mistakes. And, unfortunately, they end up being costly. People can lose a decade or more, just because of a poor decision they made early on.
The trick here is to make smarter life choices. It’s all about getting the big things right. Once you sort that out, all the little things will follow.
Save Money Automatically
Not spending money is one of the hardest things in the world. You have to somehow convince yourself that it’s worth it, even though the payoff is a long way away in the distant future.
The trick here is to automate your savings. You don’t want the money to ever enter your account. Instead, it should immediately go to your savings or investments and stay there.
Don’t rely on willpower. That doesn’t work, especially over many years. Just focus on setting up your finances so that they take care of themselves.
Take Advantage Of Financial Rewards
Don’t be one of those people who sticks with the same bank or building society for years on end offering them zero interest and no benefits. Instead, find an institution that offers perks.
In the past, people went to credit card companies because they could earn points and use them for things that they wanted, like vacations. These days, though, you can get perks on your cash as well. A prize-linked savings account, for instance, could enter you into regular draws where you stand to win a lot of money.
Give More Money
Of course, you don’t want to pursue a totally selfish life trajectory. You also want to be someone who gives regularly too.
It might sound strange, but the more money you give, the more you get. Giving money helps other people who will then help you. It’s circular.
Exercise Every Day
Very few people get the minimum recommended amount of 30 minutes of exercise per day. People are too busy working their jobs and looking after their families.
Unfortunately, failing to exercise will eventually take its toll on your health. You’ll find that you start developing all sorts of health conditions and aches. Eventually, you’ll gain weight and it will be more challenging for you to get what you want out of life.
Prioritize Healthy Eating
Only around 1 percent of people eat a genuinely healthy diet with whole grains, beans, vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds. The rest of the population primarily gets their calories from refined flours, sugar, oils and meats.
When it comes to diet, don’t be mainstream. Instead, listen carefully to your body. Hear what it says. If you shovel food into it that causes it distress, it’ll tell you.
Get Excited
Lastly, if you want to live a fantastic life, it pays to get excited. If you’re pumped about every day and the opportunities that it might bring, it energizes you. And when you’re energized, you’re much more likely to change your behavior and just get stuff done.
If you struggle to get into a positive state, move your body in a different way. Practice breath exercises or go for a run.
