I have never had Indian food before in my life so when I got the chance to review SOUL Indian food I thought why not. SOUL honors Indian cooking traditions by using only fresh, quality ingredients and vibrant,time-tested spice blends. SOUL adapts those traditions to the demands of today’s world, providing healthy, fast-to-prepare and easy-to-eat foods that capture the essence of Indian cuisine.
I tried their Madra Lentil and Basmati Rice and I must say it was actually delicious although it was spicy but not hot spicy. My acid reflux has a fit later that night but that’s okay. This is actually microwavable food so it is really easy to prepare. You just cut a small slit in the top of the packages and heat for 2 minutes. Super easy right?
It has black gram beans, red kidney beans and tomatoes all blended together in a rich butter sauce. It is slow cooked so you get this amazingly perfect taste not to mention being gluten free and vegetarian. There is no cholestrol, trans fat, perservaties, artifical flavors, or msg. I really love that! Also the rice comes out nice and fluffy not like it was microwaved at all.
SOUL will be available in Sam’s Clubs in TX, CA, IL and NJ around Memorial Day so check it out! Be sure to follow them on twitter It comes in 4 packs – 2 packs of rice and 2 packs of madras lentil. It’s supposed to be 2 servings per pack buttt I ate one pack of each pretty easily.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

This sounds so delicious, I love to try new foods and I’ve only had Indian food one time at a birthday party and I loved it there.

I just love Indian but it’s not a cuisine I would attempt to make myself. I’d love to make some Indian dishes at home – I will look for these the next time I’m at Sam’s.

Thanks for sharing the review. I really love Indian food, but it’s not something that I’ve ever tried to cook so I love pre-made meals like this. I can’t wait until it comes to Louisiana.
